The Eden Project has helped in the search for a new Blue Peter presenter and will be featured in the third episode of the CBBC series Blue Peter – You Decide!, due to be aired on Monday (July 8).

The programme, which is hosted by CBBC superstars Dick and Dom (otherwise known as Richard McCourt and Dominic Wood), aims to pick a new presenter for the iconic show from a shortlist of ten. Myleene Klass, Eamonn Holmes and Ceallach Spellman are judges for the show.

The winner will become the 36th presenter of the programme – the longest running children’s series in the world – joining Helen Skelton and Barney Harwood.

At Eden, in true Blue Peter style, the potential presenters were given the challenge of making hundreds of fruit-themed costumes with the help of children from Cornish schools.

They then had to recruit visitors to dress up in the costumes with the aim of breaking the world record for the biggest number of people dressed as fruit in one place.

Emma Hogg, Eden’s Site Wide Live Producer, said: “What a great day we had hosting Dick and Dom, the presenter competitors, the Blue Peter gang and most of all, the children and families who came in for a spectacular session of fun and frivolity in the glorious sunshine.”

The programme featuring Eden is due to be broadcast on the CBBC channel at 5pm on Monday (July 8).
