The Eden Project’s spectacular ice rink returns on Saturday October 19 with a wide range of new skating sessions for the whole family.

Nestled in the heart of Eden, the rink will be surrounded by an enchanted winter woodland threaded with twinkling lights.

Eden is introducing a selection of new evening sessions that will take place in November and December, with rookie skater sessions, a family disco and an under 18s night.

General skating sessions are available each weekday from 3pm, all day on Saturdays and from midday on Sundays until the end of the season on March 2.

A skate costs £6 per 40 minute session and young novices can also hire a penguin skating aid for an additional £4. On Wednesdays skaters can take advantage of the mid-week saver rate and get 90 minutes on the rink for no extra cost.

There is also a range of specialist ice sessions, including parent and toddler ice-play for children under six years old. The session is skate-free and Eden provides sledges and toys to play with on the rink. Each session lasts 90 minutes and all children must be accompanied by an adult. Ice-play takes place on Tuesday and Sunday mornings and entry to the session is £3 per child with one adult free.

For children between the ages of six and 12, the Chilly Juniors sessions return on Sunday mornings with races and games for confident skaters and fun with penguin skating aids and tips from instructors for beginners. Each session is £6 per child.

Keen skaters can buy a special discount card, which costs £50 and entitles card holders to half-price £3 skates during the general, 2-4-1 and Midweek Saver Skates.

Ramon Van de Velde, Eden Project Services Manager, said: “The return of the ice rink is always an exciting time of year here at Eden, but we are particularly excited about our new sessions that have something for all the family, from polished performers to absolute beginners.”

There are also exclusive sessions available for groups from schools and nurseries each weekday throughout term times. Sessions cost £5.25 per child and include admission to Eden. Booking can be made by emailing education@edenproject.com.

There is limited capacity for all of Eden’s skating sessions, so visitors are advised to pre-book to avoid disappointment. Skating costs are not included in admission to the Eden Project.
