The Eden Project is offering free admission to the people of St. Austell as part of its winter community programme on the weekend of December 14 and 15.

Those who would like to take advantage of the offer just need to bring proof of residence in the PL24, PL25 or PL26 area and photo ID, such as a driving licence or utility bill. St. Austell residents are allowed to bring in members of their immediate family, up to a maximum of one extra adult and three children.

The weekend comes in the midst of Eden’s sparkling Christmas programme, featuring Father Christmas and his elves and reindeer, a beautiful ice-rink, choirs, live music, exhibitions, workshops and fun surprises celebrating the generous spirit of the season.

Weekend nights end with a twinkling lantern parade through Eden's outdoor gardens, along with a stunning fire finale. People can not only join in the procession, but for the first time can make their own lanterns in special workshops earlier in the day too.

The community weekends programme welcomes various community groups within Cornwall and Devon to free entry on a series of weekends throughout the winter by way of thanks to the community for their invaluable support.

Emma Hogg, Eden Live Programme Producer, said: “We’re very grateful to the support the people of St. Austell and the surrounding area have given us over the years and we’re looking forward to welcoming them to our magical Christmas festivities.”

There will be another opportunity for St. Austell people to visit for free on February 1 and 2.

The weekend is also a chance for people to sign up for Eden’s Local Pass, which gives unlimited entry to the project until October 31, 2014. The pass is available to all residents from Cornwall and Devon for £12 on Direct Debit.

Passes can be purchased online or onsite and must be validated onsite before March 5, 2014 by bringing in a valid proof of address showing residences in Cornwall or Devon. For full terms and conditions, go to:
