The Eden Project is opening up its doors next Saturday (February 7, 10am-1pm) to prospective students.  The information event will help give people an opportunity to find out more about the range of higher education programmes available at the iconic biomes.

The programmes, awarded by Plymouth University and delivered in partnership with The Cornwall College Group, will see students taking a degree in a range of subject areas including horticulture, event management, and performance, storytelling and interpretation.

Charlotte Russell, Eden’s Head of Learning Partnerships, said: “There is a tremendous buzz around the university courses which will be starting up at Eden this autumn. We’ve already had a very encouraging number of people signing up.

“The open day will be a brilliant showcase for the courses. We are really looking forward to meeting lots more students interested in developing their craft in horticulture, events and performance in the unique setting of the Eden Project.”

The awards available at the Eden Project will include BSc (Hons) Horticulture with specialist pathways in Plant Science or Garden and Landscape Design, foundation degrees in Horticulture and Event Management and HNC/HNDs in Garden & Landscape Design and Small-Scale Theatre (Storytelling and Interpretation).  All these programmes will be studied at Eden, following approval by awarding body Plymouth University.

Deputy CEO of the Cornwall College Group, Raoul Humphreys, said: “Eden is a unique learning environment that will broaden the horizons of the people studying there and this is a fantastic opportunity to discover more.”

This information event will be a perfect opportunity to discover more about the courses on offer as well as to discuss your options with the teams from The Cornwall College Group and the Eden Project.

Raoul continued: “Our ethos is about making learning work and the ability to be able to study at somewhere like the Eden Project will better prepare our learners for their chosen career, by offering them new skills and unique experiences in one of the most inspiring places in the country.”
