Blazey rockers to set Eden Sessions on fire
King Creature, one of Cornwall’s hottest rock bands, have been confirmed to support Motörhead and The Stranglers at the Eden Sessions with ASUS Transformer Book Chi on Saturday June 27.
The hard-rocking four-piece hail from the town of St. Blazey, just a mile down the road from the Eden Project.
King Creature are Dave Kellaway on bass and lead vocals, Matt K. Vincent on lead guitar, Dave Evans on lead guitar and Jack Bassett on drums. They formed in 2013 and released their debut self-titled EP last year.
Likened by many to Black Label Society, Pantera and Alice in Chains, King Creature’s unique and powerful sound comes from the pairing of two technically-gifted lead guitarists, a heavy groove-based rhythm section and melodic old school dirty rock vocals.
Their high-energy live performances have blown away audiences across the South West and their national reputation has grown as result. Last year, they played at Bloodstock in Derbyshire, the UK’s biggest independent metal festival, alongside Down, Emperor, Megadeth, Hellyeah and Saxon.
Later this year, they are slated to appear at the Hard Rock Hell festival in North Wales before starting work on their debut album.
Guitarist Matt K. Vincent said: “It is beyond a dream to play with Motörhead and The Stranglers at the Eden Sessions. When we were asked we were just gobsmacked, it’s an honour and privilege.
“We have had an incredible couple of years since forming. We’ve worked really hard, played some amazing shows and met some of our idols, but this gig is set to be our high point so far. When we get on that stage, we’re going to give it absolutely everything.”
Rita Broe, Eden’s marketing director, said: “The term ‘local talent’ defines King Creature and we’re very proud to bring a band from right on our doorstep to the Sessions stage.
“This is going to be a head-banging show and King Creature are the perfect complement to Motörhead and The Stranglers.”
The other Eden Sessions are headlined by Paolo Nutini (June 12 – sold out), Elton John (June 16 and 17 – sold out), Paloma Faith (June 24 – sold out), Spandau Ballet (July 9) and Ben Howard (July 17 – sold out).
The Eden Sessions enter their fourteenth year in 2015 following headline shows last year by Dizzee Rascal, Skrillex, Ellie Goulding, Pixies and Elbow.
The Eden Sessions has its own free-to-view online TV channel (www.youtube.com/edensessionstv) featuring regularly-updated videos of some of the gigs’ finest shows.
Tickets for Motörhead, The Stranglers and King Creature at the Eden Session cost £35 plus £5 booking fee and are on sale now through www.edensessions.com or from the Eden box office on 01726 811972.
