A galaxy of star chefs, including Jean-Christophe Novelli, Ken Hom, Phil Vickery and Great British Bake Off winner Nancy Birtwhistle, has been confirmed for the Eden Project’s Festival of Food between September 10 and 27.

Each chef will give cooking demonstrations on a day during the festival. The full line-up of chefs is as follows:

Lesley Waters (appearing at the festival on September 10) is well known for her regular television appearances on Ready Steady Cook, Great Food Live, This Morning and Chefs: Put Your Menu Where Your Mouth Is and is the author of several books.

Nancy Birtwhistle (September 12) is the winner of Great British Bake Off 2014. Nancy is a self-taught home baker who only took up baking seriously when she retired seven years ago. Nancy has acquired an incredible depth of knowledge about baking.

Chetna Makan (September 13) reached the semi-finals of The Great British Bake Off in 2014. Since leaving the show, Chetna has set up a recipe blog and has been commissioned to create recipes for Jamie Oliver, Standard Issue and Foodnetwork among others.

Jack Stein (September 15) began his career in the hospitality industry as a kitchen porter during school holidays at The Seafood Restaurant in Padstow. He went on to take up the position of sous chef at Rick Stein’s Café before stints in France, Australia and Japan. Jack is currently head of development for The Seafood Restaurant.

Aldo Zilli (September 18) is an award-winning celebrity chef and restaurateur. He was the founder and chef-patron of some of London’s most exciting and innovative restaurants, has written 10 books and regularly appears on TV, such as Ready Steady Cook and Daily Cooks Challenge. Aldo currently writes a weekly column of tips and recipes for the Daily Express newspaper’s Saturday magazine.

Katy Ashworth (September 20) is a presenter on CBeebies. Katy is well known and loved by children and their families across the UK. Katy will be entertaining the children through music and games with her infectious energy, bubbly personality and sense of fun.

Jean-Christophe Novelli (September 23) is a five out of five AA Rosette and Michelin award-winning chef. Jean-Christophe arrived in Britain in 1983 and spent a year taking care of Keith Floyd’s pub as Head Chef. In 1996, Jean-Christophe then opened four restaurants in London.

Phil Vickery (September 25) is a chef, presenter and author who has been a part of the This Morning family for over 14 years, as well as appearing on Ready Steady Cook, Proof of the Pudding and his own series Phil Vickery’s Pudding Club. Phil was Head Chef of The Castle hotel in Taunton where he won four Rosettes in the AA guide and the restaurant was named The Times Restaurant of the Year.

Ken Hom (September 27) is widely regarded as one the world’s greatest authorities on oriental cooking. In 2009 he was awarded with an honorary OBE for services to culinary arts, recognising the impact he made on the way the UK that has adopted Chinese cuisine. One in eight Britons owns one of his famous woks. He has cooked personally for presidents, prime ministers, celebrities and royalty.

Marion Harrison, Eden Live Project Lead, said: “We’re passionate about food at the Eden Project and it’s very exciting to bring such a prestigious group of celebrity chefs to Eden to share their top tips with our visitors. These chefs represent such a wide variety of culinary styles that there will be something for every taste.”

All Festival of Food demonstrations and talks are included in Eden’s usual admissions prices.

Eden’s beer festival is also returning on October 3. The beer festival is organised in partnership with St Austell Brewery and will feature almost 100 speciality beers, plus tasty food and live music.
