For the first time, Manic Street Preachers come to play the Eden Sessions with ASUS in Cornwall, a decade since they last played the county.

They will be playing material from their 12-album back catalogue which includes tracks such as A Design for Life, Motorcycle Emptiness, Your Love Alone Is Not Enough and If You Tolerate This Your Children Will Be Next among countless others.

Rita Broe, Eden’s marketing director, said: “We have a fine tradition of rock bands playing the Eden Sessions and Manic Street Preachers are without doubt one of the finest British acts of the past 25 years. They have left an indelible mark on the British music scene and their longevity is testament to their enduring quality.”

Manic Street Preachers have won four BRIT Awards, 11 NME Awards and seven Q Awards. Last year, they were given the prestigious Ivors Inspiration Award at the Ivor Novello Awards.

Their Eden news comes hot on the heels of the announcement of the 20th Anniversary reissue of their seminal 1996 album Everything Must Go.

The band will be touring the UK in May playing the album in full as well as some of their hits from over the years.  This comes on the back of one of their most critically received records, their 12th studio album Futurology which charted in the top 5 in the UK.

Manic Street Preachers are the fifth act to be announced for the 2016 Eden Sessions. The others are Lionel Richie (June 14 and 15 – both sold out), Tom Jones (June 26 – sold out), PJ Harvey (June 27) and Jess Glynne (July 14 – sold out).

The Eden Sessions enter their fifteenth year in 2016. Last year (2015) saw Elton John play two consecutive headline shows at Eden. The other 2015 Eden Sessions were headlined by Paolo Nutini, Paloma Faith, Motorhead and Ben Howard.

The Eden Sessions has its own free-to-view online TV channel ( featuring regularly-updated videos of some of the gigs' finest shows.
