Jess Glynne to play second Eden Sessions date
Superstar singer Jess Glynne will play a second date at this year’s Eden Sessions with ASUS on Sunday June 5.
Her other Sessions show, which is due to take place on Thursday July 14, was one of Eden's fastest ever sell-outs.
Rita Broe, Eden's marketing director, said: "Jess Glynne is one of the hottest properties in music right now and we're so pleased to announce that she will be book-ending this year's Eden Sessions with the first and last shows of our season.
“We had huge demand for her first show and this is a great opportunity for those who weren't able to get tickets.”
London-born chart-topper Jess, who counts Amy Winehouse, Beyoncé, Mariah Carey and Whitney Houston among her biggest influences, reached the top ten in 2014 with debut solo single, Right Here.
She was a featured artist on Clean Bandit's single Rather Be and Route 94's My Love, both of which reached number one on the UK Singles Chart in 2014.
Jess became the second British female solo artist to have five number-one singles in the UK, following her solo releases Hold My Hand and Don't Be So Hard on Yourself and her feature on Tinie Tempah's Not Letting Go.
Her debut album, I Cry When I Laugh, was released in 2015 and reached number one on the UK Albums Chart.
She was nominated for three BRIT Awards - Breakthrough Act, British Female Solo Artist and British Single of the Year for her single Hold My Hand – and performed live at the show earlier this year.
Eden's summer of live music begins on Friday June 3 with Duran Duran live at Eden with BBC Music Day.
As well as headliners Duran Duran, Laura Mvula will also be playing on the day. Tickets cost £50 plus £7.50 booking fee and are available online through www.edenproject.com/bbc-music-day.
The Eden Sessions begin two days later (June 5) with the first Jess Glynne date.
Following that, the Sessions will feature Lionel Richie with Corrine Bailey Rae (June 14 and 15 – both sold out), Tom Jones (June 26 – sold out), PJ Harvey (June 27), Manic Street Preachers (July 9) and Jess Glynne’s second show (July 14 – sold out).
The Eden Sessions enter their fifteenth year in 2016. Last year (2015) saw Elton John play two consecutive headline shows at Eden. The other 2015 Eden Sessions were headlined by Paolo Nutini, Paloma Faith, Motorhead and Ben Howard.
The Eden Sessions has its own free-to-view online TV channel (www.youtube.com/edensessionstv) featuring regularly-updated videos of some of the gigs' finest shows.
Tickets for the Jess Glynne Eden Session on June 5 cost £40 plus £5 booking fee and are on sale to members of the Inside Track programme from now until 2pm on Tuesday May 17.
Tickets go on general sale on Tuesday May 17 at 4pm at www.edensessions.com.
