Queens of the Stone Age, one of the world’s biggest and best rock bands, have been confirmed for the Eden Sessions and will play a show in front of the famous Biomes on July 3.

The band, who were formed in Palm Desert in California’s Coachella Valley, come to Eden off the back of the release of their acclaimed seventh studio album Villains, which came out last summer (2017).

The record was their first to hit the top of the UK album charts and features the tracks Feet Don’t Fail Me, The Way You Used to Do and The Evil Has Landed.

Villains was produced by Mark Ronson and was nominated in the Best Rock Album category at this year’s Grammys.

Their Eden Session is the only UK show they will play this summer apart from a headline appearance at Finsbury Park in London in June.

Rita Broe, Eden’s marketing director, said: “Queens of the Stone Age are a band we have wanted to bring to the Eden Sessions for years so we’re incredibly excited to confirm this show. They bring a hard rock edge to what is shaping up to be the best and most varied line-up in the history of the Sessions.”

They have featured collaborations with rock royalty, including former Nirvana drummer and Foo Fighters front man Dave Grohl, former Screaming Trees guitarist and grunge pioneer Mark Lanegan and Nine Inch Nails front man Trent Reznor.

Queens of the Stone Age released their self-titled debut in 1998 and followed it up with the acclaimed Rated R.

Their breakout record Songs for the Deaf – featuring Grohl on drums and including the iconic singles No One Knows and Go With the Flow – was released in 2002. Lullabies to Paralyze and Era Vulgaris followed in 2005 and 2007 respectively, with …Like Clockwork being released in 2013 and hitting the top of the US album charts.
