The Eden Project is inviting families to go wild in its quiet places and secret spaces this summer with a series of new activities including an outdoors holiday club.

Eden has launched Wild Families, an array of fun and creative sessions based in its enchanting wild estate beyond the famous Biomes.

Wild Families brings the whole family together for a morning of challenging and crafty fun. Visitors can even enjoy a relaxing lunch by the fire afterwards. The activities are ideal for children aged up to 14 years but all are welcome.

The first session, Fire Carriers, takes place on Tuesday, August 1, and is repeated on August 21. Inspired by an original story, participants will team with each other and nature itself to learn how to work safely with fire in order to survive in the wild.

On Tuesday, August 14, the theme is Natural Detectives, demanding the use of all the senses as families go on an adventure into Eden’s magnificent woods, fields and hedgerows. Visitors can discover many secrets and see the living world and all its beauty in new ways.

In addition to Wild Families, Eden is also launching a summer holiday club for the first time.

Wild Wednesday Kids’ Club runs every Wednesday from July 25 to August 29 in Eden’s great outdoors and sessions are for children aged eight to 12.

Led by Eden’s Education Team and inspired by a different element each week, every session will include a mix of fun and challenging activities. There is also the chance to relax by the fire, craft and cook and make new friends.

Eden’s Education Manager Sam Kendall said: “It is an absolute pleasure to share our beautiful estate with school groups during the summer term.

“Now we’re looking forward to welcoming more children and families to explore with us during the school holidays.”

Taking part in Wild Families costs from £30 per family and each session runs from 10am-1pm.

To attend Wild Wednesdays Kids’ Club, each day-long session costs £27 per child and takes place from 9.30am-3.30pm.
