A top entertainment line-up will complement a delicious selection of ales, ciders and gins at the Eden Project's beer festival this Saturday (October 6).

Fowey-based oompah band Die Idleburghers are the latest upbeat addition to the music line-up, with indie rockers Huw Eddy & The Carnival and rising acoustic star Ben Thorpe also on the bill.

Among the beers on offer will be a range of small batch beers from St Austell Brewery, including Space Hopper, a golden ale evoking the taste of wild America, and Heligan Heroes, an amber favourite brewed in honour of the gardeners of Heligan who went to the Great War.

Some stars among the big range of ciders are the gently sparkling Blush, strong dry Vintage, and easy-to-drink premium Farmhouse, all from Cornish Orchards, and the traditional Cornish Scrumpy from Polgoon.

Making its debut at the festival is the new Eden Project Mediterranean gin. This special limited edition tipple is crafted in proud collaboration with Eden’s Cornish neighbours Tarquin’s Gin.

Eden is creating some exciting festival foods for the event, including a range of tasty burgers and spicy Indian flatbreads.

Kate Francis, Programme Producer for Eden, said: “We’re putting on another stellar line-up for our Beer Festival this year with a wide range of ales, ciders and gins, top entertainment and good food.”

The Eden Project Beer Festival takes place on Saturday (October 6) and is for people over 18 years of age. Tickets cost £12.50 and include admission, three drinks and a commemorative glass. The event runs from 6pm with last orders at 11.45pm.
