A towering Ghostly Gatekeeper will be one of star attractions of Little Monsters’ Ball, the Eden Project’s annual children’s Halloween party taking place this Saturday (October 26).

The 11ft-tall character will be greeting visitors throughout the evening, keeping the peace and busting some otherworldly dance moves at Eden’s spooktastic party.

A spine-chilling fancy dress disco with children’s dance party specialists Raver Tots will be lighting up the Mediterranean Biome, with scary skeletons and wicked witches shaking their bones on the citrus grove dance floor.

The mystical Eden dragon-keeper will be hiding out in the dreaded “doom tent” where visitors can meet him and three species of dragon eggs, one of which has just been hatched.

Mark’s Ark will be entertaining guests with some eight-legged friends, giving visitors an up close and personal experience with big, hairy but actually not very scary spiders.

Visitors can also try and catch Corbin the naughty crow as he joins the Pumpkin Patch Scarecrow for some pun-tastic laughs.

In the Rainforest Biome, families can try and track down the flexible friendly monster who spends some of her time the right way up but often she can be found upside-down, gesturing with her feet.

Firefly stilt walkers can also be found lurking in the Biome, surrounding visitors with tiny lights and captivating people with their slow, enchanting movements.

Swooping in for the evening, the Screech Owl Sanctuary will be bringing in a selection of their beautiful owls for guests to see these stunning birds up close.

Visitors can take part in trick or treating during their evening and see if they can track down the treat stations that are hidden around Eden.

Fang-tastic face-painters will be helping to transform kids and big kids into gruesome ghouls and demonic devils.

Eden’s spooky ice-skating rink will be open on the night, for visitors who want to take their dancing feet on to the ice for a skate that will chill them to the bone.

The Eden Kitchen will be serving up ghoulish grub throughout the evening for families to fuel up on before hitting the dance floor again.

Demelza Lee, Eden Live Programme Lead said: “We have a frighteningly fun-packed evening planned for the Little Monsters’ Ball this year with activities to keep all your little terrors amused!

“Eden’s Little Monsters’ Ball is a great family evening to get everyone in the spooky party mood. Enter if you dare!”

The Little Monsters’ Ball will be taking place from 6pm to 9pm on Saturday (October 26) and costs £8 each (under threes go free). Additional charges apply for ice-skating and face-painting.
