What is a dibber?

A dibber is a gardening tool used to make bulb and seed planting effortless. You use a dibber to make holes in the soil. The result is consistent hole for seedlings, all at the same depth.

It's far better to use when planting stem or room cuttings, as you don't damage the plant through forcing it into the ground. And it’s much more easy and cleaner than using your fingers.

In Roman times farmers used handled dibbers of metal & wood to plant their crops. One man would walk with a dibber making holes while a second man would plant seeds in each hole and fill it in.

What size dibber do I need?

We sell two sizes of this dibber - small and large.

The small wooden dibber is great for seedlings, window boxes and small areas.

The large dibber is good to use for planting bulbs, stem or root cuttings.
