A fine, lightly sparkling cider, made exclusively for us by Cornish Orchards, with apples from our very own orchards here on site as well as honey from our native dark honey bee hives.
This collaboration with Cornish Orchards also involved the co-fermenting of their apples with those picked from our orchards at their farm in Duloe, Cornwall. The juice from these apples was then blended together before honey from our hives was added.
The result? A full bodied and vibrant cider with a delicately smooth, honey-sweet finish, giving the aroma of beeswax and fresh apple.
Bees play a vital role in today’s ecosystem. Did you know that around a third of our crops are pollinated by insects including bees and butterflies, both of which are under threat of extinction? Since 1900, 13 species of bee have been lost here in the UK and a further 35 are under threat.
This cider celebrates the long-standing partnership between the Eden Project and Cornish Orchards and aims to highlight the important work that the bee plays as a key pollinator in our ecosystem.
