Inca berries are easy to grow, similar to tomatoes, they taste like gooseberries, kiwi, pineapple, orange.
It is both delicious and ornamental.
Each berry is wrapped in its own paper Chinese lantern and when ripe they fall to the ground so no guessing when they are ripe.
They are one of the trendiest garnishes around.
Inca Berries are also known as Physalis peruviana or the Cape Gooseberry.
These sticky amber balls have a rich flavour of ripe gooseberries with a hint of tropical fruit, followed by a pleasant bitter sweet aftertaste.
They taste great as they are, or add them to smoothies, salads and salsas.
Their flesh also has a high pectin content so they are perfect for making thick chewy jams, chutneys and preserves.
