This innovative outdoor dining set is made from recycled ocean plastic. The six carver chairs are made from recycled fishing nets combined with eucalyptus wooden legs, whilst the table is made from sustainably sourced eucalyptus wood. Sleek design, ideal for balconies and suitable for six people. Our planet is facing a plastic pollution crisis. Each year we produce 300 million tonnes of plastic waste – that’s nearly the same weight as the entire world population. Predictions show that unless something is done to reduce this, we will have created four times as much plastic waste by 2050.

It’s a well-known fact that much of this plastic waste ends up in our oceans, about eight million tonnes in fact – that’s enough to circle the earth 425 times. Each year this ‘ocean plastic’ is killing in excess of 100,000 marine creatures, and by 2050 there could be more plastic than fish calling the ocean its home. However, there is help at hand. Initiatives such as ocean circular recovery projects are helping to raise awareness and encourage consumers to take responsibility for local ocean clean-up operations. But what happens to the ocean plastic that is recovered?

Tackling a worldwide issue, LifestyleGarden® presents the DuraOcean® chair, an innovative product development that is breaking new ground by utilising ocean plastic waste such as recycled fishing nets, ropes and debris collected from the oceans, to create the world’s first commercially available chair made with ocean debris, setting the benchmark for sustainable material usage and design.

What is DuraOcean?

It is an innovative product development with recycled fishing nets, rope and plastic waste collected from the ocean, as part of an ocean circular recovery project.

The Ocean Collection is designed for disassembly, meaning that the design allows each component in its purest form to recycle into new production circles.

What is inside the DuraOcean chair?

This chair is 100% made with recycled plastics originating from marine debris and mainly consist of fishing nets that have been safely removed from the ocean, cleaned and turned into this beautiful chair.

Is this chair recyclable?

Yes, this chair is fully recyclable, after use you can dispose of this chair at a green point station near your home. Most countries have these stations available; as an alternative, you can also leave the plastic bucket on the container for plastic bottles.

Can I choose my colour for DuraOcean?

No. DuraOcean is made from marine debris and therefore the colour palette available is limited to the colour and composition of the debris found, which is normally green, blue and occasionally brown.

Does this chair contain any harmful chemicals?

No, the chair has been manufactured according to rigorous standards and in accordance with the EU laws that banned harmful chemicals (reach), this chair is completely safe for the environment.

Delivery & Returns

Standard delivery

Every product page specifies if an item is dispatched directly by Eden Project or our selected brands.

For items dispatched directly by Eden Project UK standard delivery on all products is £4.75* and free delivery for orders over £50.

Many items dispatched directly by our brands qualify for free delivery*.

The exact shipping rates will be calculated on checkout based on your selected products and delivery address.

*UK Mainland, some exceptions may occur.

Packed seeds, not boxed (UK-only): £2.75

Unfortunately for a small number of postcodes in remote areas of mainland UK we cannot guarantee free delivery. As a charity we set our postage charges according to our courier and have to pass on any additional charges. Delivery times

Most products are dispatched within 1-3 working days of receiving the order. We'll let you know by email when your order has been dispatched.

After dispatching, your order will normally reach you within 1-3 working days. It may take a little longer in busy periods.

Why we dispatch some products directly from our suppliers

To reduce the products' carbon footprint and to offer you a wider selection of products, we have a number of brands/suppliers dispatching directly to you from their warehouses.

Please see the "Delivery & Returns" tab on each product where we specify if a product is sent directly by Eden Project or from a supplier.

If you receive goods that do not match those that you ordered, please notify us within 14 days of receipt to return them. For all enquiries please call 01726 818891 or e-mail us: webshop@edenproject.com.

To be eligible for a return, items must be in its original packaging, in the same condition that you received your order, unworn or unused, with tags. This does not apply to faulty items.

Items that were delivered directly from our suppliers will be returned to them. Once they receive the item(s) and verify their condition Eden Project will process a refund.

Stock availability

If for unforeseen reasons an item in your order is unavailable, we will contact you using the details you have given us to arrange an alternative product of similar quality or price. Naturally, if you choose to cancel the order, we will give you a full refund for the unavailable item.

Packing of products

We use recycled packaging where we can, and also re-use surplus boxes from here on site whenever possible. We always take care to ensure that the packages we send reach you in perfect condition and are a delight to open!

How to return an item

You can return an item within 14 days of receipt. As some of our products are dispatched directly by our brands, please contact us before returning any item(s) so we can provide you with the exact address on where to send them back.

Unless an item is faulty, you're responsible for the postage charges to return the item.

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unworn or unused, with tags, and in its original packaging.

If there were any shipping charges at the time of placing an order they will not be refunded unless the item is faulty.

Made to order or personalised products are not refundable.
