The original Garden of Eden painting was completed by John Dyer in 2001 using acrylic on board. Being involved in Eden’s early stages John witnessed the amazing transformation of the biomes from building sites to living, growing environments within the space of a few weeks before Eden officially opened to the public.

The John Dyer Gallery is run by the husband and wife team of artists John Dyer and Joanne Short. John Dyer is Cornwall's best-known and best-loved contemporary artist. He is the artist in residence for the Eden Project and an official Artist for the Earth with EarthDay.org in the USA. John Dyer's paintings are known worldwide through his many art prints, posters and exhibitions. He has a unique way of capturing the essence of his subject, and his work celebrates the song of life. Joanne Short, elected member of the acclaimed Newlyn Society of Artists, is one of Cornwall's best-known and widely collected contemporary artists. Having exhibited in Cornwall, London and Europe for over 30 years, the artist has an enviable reputation for her exquisite colourist oil paintings.
