These tunnels created out of bent willow shoots, which interweave like snakes, are a favourite with people of all ages. They’re a great way to get a different perspective of Eden.

Man has crafted things out of willow shoots – called osiers – for centuries. Baskets, wattle and daub house walls, coracle boats and chairs are just a few examples. Tannin, paper, rope and string can also be produced from willow.

Did you know?

Children today spend, on average, just 9% of their time outside; a lot less than previous generations. We’ve created inspirational spaces for kids here at Eden because we know that outdoor play can improve cognitive skills, health, imagination and self-esteem; all essential ingredients for a happy and successful young person.

We offer training for teachers and ideas for parents to help kids reconnect with their environment.
