This ship, which has run aground in our Tea exhibit, was built by shipbuilder Alistair Guy using traditional techniques. It provides an engrossing shortcut that many kids like to play on – as well as a nice rest for adults.

Tea is made from the young leaves of the tea bush, Camellia sinensis, which grows in the subtropics, the cool, moist, mountainous tropics – and here! The Chinese used tea as a medicine, and now there is new interest in its health-giving properties.
