Halloweden Story Trail

Bring your visit to life by following our family story trail and listening to our collection of legends from around the world, full of owls, spirits and magical trees.

You can access the stories via the audio player on this page using your smart phone (with earphones): play each story when you reach a different point in the trail – there are eight along the way. Look out for the owl signs to guide you or use the map below.

Finish the trail on the Bluff next to the bridge above the Core building, and meet our special friends from the Screech Owl Sanctuary.

The tales also make fantastic bedtime stories back at home. Listen online or read them aloud using the written version.

We’ve worked hard to create a spooky but safe experience this half-term for a limited number of visitors, which includes new Halloween-themed ways to enjoy our site, but unfortunately we aren’t able to offer our Little Monsters’ Ball Halloween disco this year.
