In the Rainforest Biome
6.15pm: 1990s Chris
1990s Chris is a queer, working class poet from Hereford, based in Bristol. Writing primarily for film and audio, Chris is currently a BBC New creative and writer at Neoteric Dance Company, previously working with Channel 4. His work hopes to start conversations around queer identity, masculinity and class.
6.45pm: MCMC Spoken
A criticially acclaimed performance word artist from Cornwall whose poetry, rap, freestyle and spoken word has been a favourite at Proud Eden since day one.
7.30pm: A Little Twisted
A female duo from Cornwall who put their own stamp on a whole head of well-known tracks.
8.30pm: Kat Lyons
Kat is a Bristol-based poet, performer, storyteller and multiple slam winner who mixes serious subjects with a light touch, exploring themes as diverse as mass extinction, ageing, the #metoo movement and grief-induced bad haircuts.
9pm: Robert Garnham
A spoken word artist bringing his own brand of LGBT whimsy and humour to audiences across the UK at fringes and festivals, poetry nights and comedy cabarets.
9.45pm: Shea Freedom
A rising transgender singer, Shea Freedom is a song writer with a voice of an angel and lyrics that sing of equality and freedom. He will also be doing a TRANSend 101 workshop on the day of Proud Eden.
In the Mediterranean Biome
6pm: Benji Matthews
Cornish singer/songwriter who won acclaim from Simon Cowell for his song writing abilities when he reached the six-chair challenge on ITV’s X Factor.
7pm: Lots Holloway
Originally from Newquay, Lots is a multi-instrumentalist and talented artist who creates, write and produces both emotional and infectious music.
International Beyoncé Impersonator Aaron Carty, burst onto the scene in 2015 on Britain’s Got Talent, where he wowed the judges with his Crazy In Love / Single Ladies routine with his six female dancers. Since then, Aaron has performed all over the world including New York, Las Vegas, L.A, Seychelles, Berlin and Sitges.
9.15pm: Grace Savage
Beatboxing champion turned electro-pop artist, Grace has a unique electronic sound and lyrical venom which has seen her becoming an ever more prevalent voice for women in music and wider society.
10.15pm: Zak Abel
Zak is a singer-songwriter from North London whose songs showcase electric vocal and his knack for delivering an undeniable hook. His debut album Only When We’re Naked, released last year, is a stunning, striking record that examines the frailties of the human condition with exceptional results. The first single was the brilliant Unstable which has, to date, been streamed over 36 million times on Spotify alone.
In the Link Building
6.30pm: TRANSend 101 workshop
Explore the sacred roles held in various cultures throughout history by transgender and non-binary people.
8pm and 9.30pm: ARE YOU PROUD? Documentary
Directed by Ashley Joiner, Are You Proud? charts the LGBTQ+ movements momentous journey toward equality. Celebrating the community’s greatest achievements, the film calls attention to the fights both past and present while asking tough questions about the future.
Tickets cost £10 (no Eden admission required, as this is an out-of-hours event). Your Proud Eden ticket gets you entry into the Eden Project at 4pm.
Please note that under-16s must be accompanied by an adult, as there will be adult content during the evening.
