Apprentice pay rate for all vacancies is £3.40 during the first year
Contracts will start on Monday 3rd October 2016 and are based on 40 hours per week

We are looking for a number of enthusiastic and committed people to take up varied Apprenticeship positions starting in October.  All apprentices will complete a national recognised Level 2 qualification with Cornwall College (Graphic Design will be through Plymouth College of Art) during their apprenticeship and where apprentices excel there is also an opportunity to progress to a Level 3 qualification, where appropriate.

In order to be successful you will need to be motivated and committed to completing the 2 years. We don’t need you to have lots of previous qualifications or experience, we are looking for the right attitude and a willingness to learn and get stuck in!
If you do not have your own transport available you should consider how you will travel to work, as Eden is in a rural location and public transport is not always available.

Kitchen Porter 

£5.75 per hour for age 16-17, £6.44 for 18-20 year olds and £7.20 for ages 21 and over 

Summer is fast approaching and now is the time when we’re looking for additional team members to support our existing back of house hospitality team. We love to wow our visitors with our stunning architecture, our amazing horticulture and our fantastic food extravaganza.  It’s all part of the entire unique visitor experience which is only available at the Eden Project!

Hours worked will vary but shifts will be during the day, with additional hours required for our events held on site and Eden Sessions concerts. Contracts will be based on a minimum of 10 hours per week and a maximum of 30 hour per week, with additional hours available during busier periods. 

This is a key role within the Hospitality team and main duties will include maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen, including washing pots, pans and dishes, cleaning the cookers, sweeping the floors and in general any other activity which is need to ensure the safe and efficient running of the kitchen.

Admissions Assistant

Our Admissions team have a number of vacancies for seasonal staff to join them from July. These will be fixed term positions until 5/9/16 and will be on Min/Max 10-30 hour per week contracts.

We know at Eden that first impressions count and our Admissions team are our first port of call for visitors.

We are looking to recruit members for the team who have a passion for Eden and can consistently deliver a warm engaging welcome suitable for our world class destination, whilst focusing on the sales of Admission tickets, Gift Aid and the Eden Guide.

Events Co-ordinator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join the Eden Project events team, as an administrator. Eden is one of Cornwall’s most renown event venues and hosts a wide range of events from weddings; corporate events; parties to residential team building camps, catering from 5 people to 500people, this role offers the successful candidate plenty of variety.

You will be a key member of our team, supporting them with administration duties such as invoicing, booking forms, raising purchase orders, managing our booking diaries and communicating to our wider team about event bookings. You will frequently be answering initial enquiries from clients, therefore will have a great telephone manner and customer service skill to match.

The successful candidate will be organised, confident with financing procedure and will have meticulous attention for detail, you will be confident using Microsoft Excel and a knowledge of CRM software would be beneficial, but not mandatory.

Events Planner

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and enthusiastic individual to join the Eden Project events team. Eden is one of Cornwall’s most renown event venues and hosts a wide range of events from weddings; corporate events; parties to residential team building camps, catering from 5 people to 500people, this role offers the successful candidate plenty of variety.

Within the role you as an Event Planner you will be meeting clients from the initial planning stages of their event and follow this process through to event delivery and being the main point of contact on the day for the event, working alongside our event manager and other event planner. You will be working across a broad spectrum of events, so will need to ensure that your communication and attention to detail is impeccable, whilst always maintaining your enthusiasm for each event.

The successful candidate will be motivated and forward thinking, with meticulous planning skills and a strong desire to create amazing events. Your time will be divided between the office and on site delivering events and therefore this role is not 9-5 and you will be expected to work evenings and weekends.

Our Events and Hospitality team is looking for hard working, confident people to join its events delivery team in these two new positions. A strong eye for detail is essential with an infectious enthusiasm for the role, a hand on approach will be needed at all times.
On a day to day basis you will be in close contact with customers and staff so an excellent customer service attitude and the ability to build working relationships with fellow team members is essential. The main responsibilities of the role include setting up the venues, setting tables, waiting tables, serving drinks and handling cash, all to be done in a friendly and professional manner.
Each event will be different, so you could be hosting a drinks reception in the biomes one week and covering every aspect of a formal dinner the next.
Hours include weekends and late nights.

Logistics Services Operative

30 hours per week

We are looking for people to deal with a variety of different tasks across the whole site both in public areas and behind the scenes.
This will in the main include cleaning of toilets, offices, and associated areas across all of the Eden Project with use of Professional cleaning equipment.
In addition you will be required at times to assist at the recycling plant based at Eden and thus an understanding of recycling streams would be useful.
You need to be enthusiastic and prove a good level of flexibility as the role will also require driving hence a full driving licence is essential.

Knowledge of Health and Safety would also be an advantage however all training for the role would be given as required.

Horticultural Specialist (Scientist/Plant Records)

Full time, permanent position
Up to £23,415pa (pay review pending - Autumn 2016)

We are looking for an enthusiastic botanist/plant scientist to join the horticultural science team at the Eden Project. A detailed knowledge of plant taxonomy and keen eye for detail is needed to help keep track of over 6000 taxa within the Eden Project’s Biomes and Nursery.

Experience with plant records databases (BG Base) and a methodical approach to record keeping is essential to maintain the existing records. This invaluable resource is used to provide information to the horticultural team, as well as media campaigns and external projects. A working knowledge of CBD, CITES and the Nagoya Protocol will be needed to help advise future plant procurement and maintain the legality of the existing plant collection. Experience of GIS would be desirable to help develop the mapping of the plant collection.

Excellent communication skills will be needed to help share the passion and importance of plants to a range of audiences, from the youngest of Eden Project’s visitors to visiting academic researchers.
A degree in Botany or related Plant Science with considerable experience would be desirable.

This is a new opportunity for an enthusiastic individual with excellent people skills to join us for the summer. We are looking for a Storyteller to join the team over the 2016 busy Summer period. This Storyteller needs to have an ‘up for anything’ attitude, be dependable, hardworking and willing to learn multiple topics and stories. We require a team player who is also capable of developing individual ideas. You will ideally have a broad sense of creativity, stories to tell and a good understanding of Eden. The Summer comes with high intensity and lots of energy so a sense of fun and strong stamina is essential. Proven performance skills and experience is essential and you will be very happy to perform in front of 200 people on your own. Training for specific and relevant seasonal performances will be given. 

For your interview, we would like you to present a 15 minute contemporary story/performance, with the subject of flight, the method of your choice and using the tools of your choice. The story/performance will be delivered in our Citrus Grove followed by questions.

This summer the Eden Project is looking for various Seasonal Narrators to lead and engage with our visitors in our Dinosaur Uproar programme 

We are seeking creative, inspirational, highly self-motivated and capable individuals to form a team that fires the imagination of all ages in exploring the world of Dinosaurs, palaeontology and Explorers.  

For each role you will need to be focused, enthusiastic, show initiative, be a good team player and have experience working with all age ranges especially children.

This role involves 3 main elements; hosting the immersive dinosaur exhibition, running the Dig Pit and running various dinosaur adventure activities.

You will need a constant welcoming smile, the ability to talk to people of all ages and great queue busting and crowd control technique.

You will be working outside and inside in two dedicated spaces, with an extensive range of materials in a physically demanding role with some manual handling involved.

This summer the Eden Project is looking for various Seasonal Narrators to lead and engage with our visitors in our Dinosaur Uproar programme 

We are seeking creative, inspirational, highly self-motivated and capable individuals to form a team that fires the imagination of all ages in exploring the world of Dinosaurs, palaeontology and Explorers.  

For each role you will need to be focused, enthusiastic, show initiative, be a good team player and have experience working with all age ranges especially children.
This role will be responsible for the animation of the smaller dinosaur puppets and looking after and introducing the larger puppets to our visitors during our summer holidays dinosaur programme. You will be bringing to life a range of dinosaurs for the visitors and through puppetry and performance, engaging them with amazing facts. For this role you must have experience with performance and puppetry and with public engagement.
