Eden Project Communities demonstrates UK wide reach, engagement, positive action and the creation of real social capital.  It all began in 2009 with The Big Lunch, the UK’s annual get-together for neighbours, which has grown ten-fold since it started to 7.3million people taking part in June 2016.  Alongside this, our Community Camp events at Eden have been helping people across the UK build the skills and confidence to drive positive social action where it is needed most.

Over the next year we are growing participation in the work we do to new heights and aiming to increase the social impact on communities and neighbourhoods all over the UK.  To help us, we are looking for the right individual to lead our in-country delivery for Wales as the Country Manager, covering a wide geography.

You will lead the delivery of all of our Community activity across your territory to ensure we meet desired outcomes, including supporting delivery of the central PR campaign in raising awareness and participation in The Big Lunch across your area.  Development and management of key strategic relationships to support this will be an important element of the role as will development of a sustainable support model for programme participants across the territory you manage, with the support of a Community Network Developer who will report into you.

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience on a country wide programme with a strong emphasis on communication campaigns within the charity or community sector. Knowledge of the specific challenges that affect local communities and understanding of the political, cultural and societal issues across your region will be key, along with your ability to develop strategic plans and problem solve within the role. 

Working for the Eden Project (Charity number 1093070), roles within Eden Project Communities are funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund. The post holder will be based regionally from home and will be required to travel across the UK and to the Eden Project in Cornwall regularly as part of the role.

Eden Live Project Lead

Full time, permanent position

The Eden Live Team is responsible for the devising, programming and delivery of live visitor activity with a central focus on the annual themed seasonal events programmes.

We are seeking an experienced event manager/programmer to work alongside the other Project Leads, this role has a particular focus on devising and programming the Eden Live events as well as on site management of installations and through the live programme.

The successful candidate will have creative flair with the ability to multitask plus organisational, communication and negotiation skills.

Marketing and Communications Officer, London

Over the next year we are growing participation in community activity to new heights, aiming to increase the social impact that community-led action has on neighbourhoods all over the UK.  To help us, we’re looking for the right individual to support both the Communications & Marketing Manager and the wider team through delivery of all elements of the marketing and communications plans for Eden Project Communities.

You will implement the communications strategy, helping to deliver print and digital resources, copywriting and managing content for the websites, e-newsletters and social media.  An active communicator, you will maintain key relationships with partner organisations, and help to develop new relationships that help extend our message more widely.

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience within a communications environment, ideally within a similar community focused initiative or charity role. They will be an excellent communicator with experience crafting written and visual content, copy editing, using social media management and analytics tools, using website CMS, and solving problems in a fast paced environment. Photoshop and InDesign skills are desirable but not essential, as are film and video editing skills — however, these can be learnt on the job.

Skilled Horticulturist

A great opportunity to work as part of the Eden Outdoor Biome Horticultural Team on a range of world class ornamental and seasonal cropping exhibits and projects and experience and learn the unique approach of Eden Horticulture

Candidates ideally should have considerable relevant experience in horticulture, Pa1 and Pa6 qualifications and a minimum of a Diploma in Horticulture. You will need to be a team player and be highly motivated and enthusiastic with good communication skills. 

In addition to skilled husbandry of ornamental planting, the role will ideally require expertise in crop production for the purpose of display in the outdoor Garden at EDEN

We are looking for chefs to join our experienced and passionate team.

Hours worked will vary but shifts will predominantly be during the day, with additional hours required for our events held on site and Eden Sessions concerts.

£8.10 per hour

If you have a passion for food, a commitment to the development of staff and have experience in a role of a similar level then this is the job for you!

You will be experienced at this level, creativity is a must; as is the ability to work individually, be organised and lead by example. Duties will include preparation, cooking and presentation of all dishes as well as overseeing, coaching and training junior staff to deliver at the same level.

Our ideal candidates will have a passion for food, enthusiasm to learn and the ability to work in a demanding, fast paced environment.  Duties will include preparation, cooking and presentation of all dishes in numerous venues around site.

Being able to work in a busy environment in an organised and efficient way is key to success in this role.
