This key role, reporting to our CEO International, will lead the team to deliver across the range of projects managed under the International arm of Eden.  The successful candidate for this role will have a proven track record in managing complex projects, quickly building exceptional relationships with both Eden colleagues and external partners to ensure successful delivery of the the portfolio. You will be used to operating at a senior level with senior stakeholders and have the ability to manage a team delivering creative solutions.

Junior Researcher Writer

Chef Apprenticeship

2 Year Contracts
Apprentice pay rate for all vacancies is £3.50 during the first year
Contracts will start in September 2017 and are based on working 40 hours per week 
We are looking for a number of enthusiastic and committed people to take up Apprenticeship positions starting in September.  All apprentices will complete a national recognised Level 2 qualification during their apprenticeship and where individuals excel there is also an opportunity to progress to a Level 3 qualification, where appropriate.

In order to be successful you will need to be motivated and committed to completing the 2 years. We don’t need you to have lots of previous qualifications or experience, we are looking for the right attitude and a willingness to learn and get stuck in!

The Chef Team are seeking temporary staff for the following events:

Sandwich Maker

We are looking for someone to assist in our sandwich room. You will work as part of a team and be responsible for producing a large quantity of sandwiches, salads and wraps for different venues across the Eden site. Our ideal candidates will have a passion for food and enthusiasm to working in a fast paced environment.  

Being able to work in an organised and efficient way is key to success in this role. Previous experience of working in a school kitchen / canteen like environment producing lunches would be advantageous but not essential.

Event and Hospitality Assistants 

Fixed term contract until 31/10/2017

Zero hours contract to allow flexibility through seasonal periods

£5.75 per hour for ages 16-17, £6.44 for ages 18-20 and £7.50 for ages 21 and over 

Our Events and Hospitality team is looking for hard working, confident people to join its events delivery team. A strong eye for detail is essential with an infectious enthusiasm for the role, a hand on approach will be needed at all times.

On a day to day basis you will be in close contact with customers and staff so an excellent customer service attitude and the ability to build working relationships with fellow team members is essential. The main responsibilities of the role include setting up the venues, setting tables, waiting tables, serving drinks and handling cash, all to be done in a friendly and professional manner.

Each event will be different, so you could be hosting a drinks reception in the biomes one week and covering every aspect of a formal dinner the next. 

Hours include weekends and late nights.

Events Sous Chef

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and enthusiastic sous chef to join the Eden Project events team. Eden is one of Cornwall’s most renowned event venues and hosts a wide range of events from weddings; corporate events; parties to residential team building camps, catering from 5 people to 500 people, this role offers the successful candidate plenty of variety. 

As part of the role you will be tasked with creating bespoke menus based on client briefs and adhering to budgets and margins; preparing and delivering dishes in the iconic Eden Project biomes, which taste and presentation match the venue.

During quieter times on events you will also be required to work in other venues on site, including our Mediterranean restaurant and the Eden Kitchen. 

The successful candidate will be creative and passionate about food, a solution finder and a natural team leader, who has the drive and desire to excel in this role. Experience of events and functions would be beneficial but not mandatory.

Hospitality Assistant

Varied hours are available. You will be required to work weekends and evenings, flexibility is a must as you will be expected to provide cover over a seven day week. Please state any prior commitments in your application form that you will not be able to work due to holidays/festivals.

Market Researcher

32 hours per week, £8.33 per hour

The market research team are looking for an outgoing and confident person to assist the Research Manager with our busy market research programme. Eden’s visitor research covers an exciting and unique variety of projects, including the Eden Sessions, visitor profiling, sporting events and seasonal programmes evaluation. Funded projects and sponsorship feedback are also amongst the wide range of responsibilities covers in the role.

The successful candidate will ideally have at least 3 years’ experience, preferably in the tourism sector, in the field of market research and of disseminating complex data, as well as being able to communicate with a wide audience. The main responsibilities include questionnaire design, face to face interviewing, data inputting, keeping accurate records, analysis of complex data sets and quantitative and qualitative research techniques. 

The role requires flexibility and the ability to work both as a team and confidently as an individual.

Skilled Horticulturist (Med Biome)

Permanent Contract

40 hours per week

£17,326 pro rata

We are looking for an experienced Mediterranean horticulturist to join our team responsible for maintaining and developing the plant displays and exhibits in the Mediterranean Biome. You will be expected to work to very high standards and have a good eye for detail.  An all-round knowledge of Mediterranean horticultural skills will be necessary as well as the ability to develop a specialists understanding for specific areas of responsibility.

Candidates ideally should have 3 years relevant experience in Mediterranean horticulture, Pa1 and Pa6 qualifications and a minimum of a Diploma in Horticulture. You will need to be a team player and be highly motivated and enthusiastic with good communications skills. Knowledge of Mediterranean Crops and/or Mediterranean fruits would be particularly advantageous.

Seasonal Narrators

This summer the Eden Project is looking for Seasonal Narrators to lead and engage with our visitors in our Journey to Space programme from the 27th of July to the 3rd of September.

We are seeking creative, inspirational, highly self-motivated and capable individuals to form a team that fires the imagination of all ages in exploring the world of Space, Planets and Astronauts and beyond. 

For each role you will need to be focused, enthusiastic, show initiative, be a good team player and have experience working with all age ranges especially children.

Activity Facilitator (level 2 Narrator)

£7.60 per hour for ages 21 and over, £6.44 for ages 18-20, £5.75 for ages 16-17

40 hours a week – although a few part time roles available

This role involves 3 main elements; hosting the immersive journey around our own solar system, running various astronaut training activities at the Space Academy and help visitors save the aliens that have been stranded here at Eden at the Alien Encounter.

You will need a constant welcoming smile, the ability to talk to people of all ages and great queue busting and crowd control technique.
