Admissions Assistant

We know at Eden that first impressions count and our Admissions team are our first port of call for visitors.

We are looking to recruit members for the team who have a passion for Eden and can consistently deliver a warm engaging welcome suitable for our world class destination, whilst focusing on the sales of Admission tickets, Gift Aid and the Eden Guide.

Chef de Partie

We are looking for chefs to join our experienced and passionate team.

If you have a passion for food, a commitment to the development of staff and have experience in a role of a similar level then this is the job for you!

You will be experienced at this level, creativity is a must; as is the ability to work individually, be organised and lead by example. Duties will include preparation, cooking and presentation of all dishes as well as overseeing, coaching and training junior staff to deliver at the same level.

Hours worked will vary but shifts will predominantly be during the day, with additional hours required for our events held on site and Eden Sessions concerts.

GDPR Campaign Officer

Part-time post (3 days/week) until end June 2018
£20,211 per annum
We are seeking an experienced email marketing specialist to join the Eden Project’s Marketing Team on an interim basis as we prepare for new GDPR legislation. The individual will work alongside members of the Marketing Team and beyond to deliver a successful campaign that is not only optimised for maximum conversion, but follows best practice.
 
The post-holder’s main focus is to coordinate and deliver the organisation’s email re-consent campaign, by writing, building, testing, sending and monitoring consent emails – working to an agreed project plan, within legal and technical guidelines set by the project manager.
 
The GDPR Campaign Officer should have in-depth knowledge of delivering email marketing campaigns, but should be prepared to assist the team in delivering wider marketing aspects of Eden’s GDPR compliance, such as a postal campaign. 
 
This is a temporary, part-time contract which would suit a highly experienced individual with experience of email marketing, who has fine attention to detail, is results-focussed, and who is looking for an exciting short-term challenge.

Hangloose Adventure operates the adventure centre at the Eden Project in Cornwall and is looking for a new site manager to oversee operations.
 
The manager will be supported by, and report to the head office but will be responsible for the day to day operations of the site, overseeing the staff and ensuring the customers are well catered for and are given a quality experience.

  • Full time permanent position. Hangloose is a seasonal business, we operate an annualised hours system and you will be expected to work long hours in the Summer and take an extended break over the Winter
  • Salary £24,000 – £27,000 pa plus bonus dependant on experience

This is an exciting opportunity for someone that enjoys working outdoors and has the ability to manage a team of instructors as well as being able to manage their own time and workload. The ideal candidate should possess these key attributes:
  •  Experienced in running an outdoor activity centre (desirable, not essential) 
  • Experienced with climbing equipment. Setting up anchors and relevant rescue techniques 
  • A natural team leader 
  • Excellent organisational skills 
  • Comfortable with developing risk assessments and S.O.P’s
  • Ability to work as part of a large team in Summer and a much smaller team in Winter
  • Ability to deal effectively with customers and staff 
  • Have a track record of dealing with the public on a senior level

Individual Giving Officer

Permanent, Full-Time contract

Eden’s Membership and Individual Giving team has been through an exciting journey over the last few years – since re-launching Eden Project Membership in 2015 we have more than tripled the number of Members supporting Eden and raised vital funds for the development of our Rainforest Canopy Walkway: but we are ambitious and want to do much more!

We now have a great new role available in the team to help support our ambitious plans for continued growth, and our efforts to raise unrestricted funds to support the delivery of Eden’s wide range of charitable projects.  

We need a resourceful fundraiser to join us, who is able to work independently to help develop and administer a range of Individual Giving activities. You’ll take the lead on promoting our monthly giving Link Membership scheme, and help re-launch our Patrons offer. As well as building long-lasting relationships with our existing donors and identifying suitable opportunities to recruit new donors, you’ll be an excellent written communicator who’ll be able to confidently lead a broad range of fundraising activities which include regular and commemorative giving, legacies, appeals and sponsorship.

This role would ideally suit someone with a background in fundraising gained within the charity sector, and preferably a visitor attraction. You’ll have excellent customer service skills, and you’ll be confident in your ability to analyse and interpret data to identify suitable audiences for your activities. You should also demonstrate a good understanding of the legal, regulatory and ethical environment of fundraising including Data Protection and Gift Aid.

We are looking for an enthusiastic people-person with a flair for customer service and administration. You’ll have great attention to detail, confidently using a Microsoft CRM database to check and update customer details to process new and renewing Memberships. You’ll also be the first point of contact for all supporter enquiries by post, phone and email as well as face-to-face.

You’ll test and trial different methods of recruitment, using a range of channels both on- and off-line, and develop a varied and interesting programme of events and offers for Members both on-site at Eden and accessible further afield. You’ll support the Membership Assistant in responding to feedback and enquiries and in delivering excellent customer service overall, working closely with internal departments.

This role would ideally suit someone with marketing and copywriting experience working in the charity sector or a membership organisation. Ideally you’ll have some knowledge of digital and direct marketing techniques, and you’ll possess strong organisational and multi-tasking skills. You’ll be a great influencer and comfortable in using your excellent written and verbal communication skills with people at all levels.

Senior Graphic Designer

40 hours per week

Initial 1 Year contract with a view for a permanent position

Would you like to stretch your design and management skills at the home of the most iconic building in Britain?

From designing visitor signage for our rainforest – the world’s largest in captivity – to creating beautiful packing for the products in the Eden shop – to designing the Eden Magazine – no two days will be the same. You will work with like-minded creative teams to produce best in class creative to promote our destination and surprise and delight our visitors. 

We are looking for a highly creative, enthusiastic and passionate person to take up this senior position within our in-house Graphic Design team.

In this position your creative leadership is central to ensuring a high quality of production as you take a lead role in major design projects as well as steering and developing our other graphic designers. 

You will be the go-to person in the team so excellent communication skills, gregariousness and a full working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite are a must. You will work in a busy and vibrant office where sense of humour alongside ability to work well under pressure is the key to success.

Site Hygienist

40 hours per week

The Eden project is a unique visitor attraction and this is a unique role to fill. 

We are looking for people to deal with a variety of different tasks across the whole site both in public areas and behind the scenes. 

This will in the main include cleaning of toilets, offices, and associated areas across all of the Eden Project with use of Professional cleaning equipment. 

In addition you will be required at times to assist at the recycling plant based at Eden and thus an understanding of recycling streams would be useful.

You need to be enthusiastic and prove a good level of flexibility as the role will also require driving hence a full driving licence is essential and other tasks at Eden as required offering a service to other site staff.

Knowledge of Health and Safety would also be an advantage however all training for the role would be given as required.

Site Manager

Permanent, Full time Contract

£25,000 per annum

We are looking for someone to join our site management team to make sure that Eden is ready for business each day.  From checking the site is safe to open to briefing the operational teams on the day’s events and activities and working with team managers to make sure are ready to greet our visitors our Site Managers keep a ‘finger on the pulse’ each day to make to make sure that all operational decisions are focused with the visitor experience in mind.

We are looking for someone with a background in operational management and, ideally, experience in a similar business type or a customer service role.

You will have an enthusiasm for delivering outstanding visitor experiences, an eye for detail and be an example of Eden’s values.  This is a diverse role and requires working in collaboration with all the Eden Teams so you will need to be a quick learner and an excellent communicator.

Responsible for co-ordinating incident management you will be someone who takes the unexpected in their stride, able to demonstrate resourcefulness, decision making and problem solving skills. You will also need excellent planning and organising skills as you will be expected to plan and deliver some events as the sole lead. 

Open 364 days a year and delivering a diverse range of events throughout the year the role will include weekend working, as well as early starts and late finishes so your flexibility will be an essential requirement.

Skilled Horticulturist – Outdoor Garden   

Full time, Permanent Contract

We are looking for an experienced horticulturist to join our team in the outdoor gardens responsible for maintaining and developing the plant displays and exhibits in the garden. You will be expected to work to very high standards and have a good eye for detail.  An all-round knowledge of horticultural skills will be necessary as well as the ability to develop a specialists understanding for specific areas of responsibility.

Candidates ideally should have 3 years relevant experience in horticulture, Pa1 and Pa6 qualifications and a minimum of a Diploma in Horticulture. You will need to be highly motivated and enthusiastic able to work under your own initiative as well as a team player and have good communications skills to work with other departments and visitors.
