Skilled Horticulturist (Tropical Nursery)

£17,326 per annum

Permanent, 40 hours per week

An exciting opportunity to join the Eden Project’s horticultural team has become available at our nursery. Watering Lane Nursery is situated 6 miles away from the main Eden Project site and supplies plants for the world famous Biomes. We are looking for someone with experience of working in a horticultural nursery with knowledge of tropical plants and their propagation.  Providing seasonal displays and new exhibit developments for the Rainforest Biome.

A basic knowledge of pest, disease and biosecurity is also needed as part of the tropical plant production but also as this role will include the day to day care of the tropical quarantine house.

This role will report to the Nursery Team Lead and will be based at the nursery site but will also require working closely with the horticultural team within the Rainforest Biome.

Good record keeping is needed as well as a full driving licence as delivering plants to the main Eden site is a regular part of the role.

We are looking for an experienced horticulturist to join our team in the outdoor gardens responsible for maintaining and developing the plant displays and exhibits in the garden. You will be expected to work to very high standards and have a good eye for detail.  An all-round knowledge of horticultural skills will be necessary as well as the ability to develop a specialists understanding for specific areas of responsibility.

Candidates ideally should have 3 years relevant experience in horticulture, Pa1 and Pa6 qualifications and a minimum of a Diploma in Horticulture. You will need to be highly motivated and enthusiastic able to work under your own initiative as well as a team player and have good communications skills to work with other departments and visitors. Experience with crops is desirable.

Digital Content Officer, Cornwall

You will develop, write, edit, design and deliver digital content for our programme.  You will work closely with the programme team to identify interesting and inspiring content that supports our network and projects.

We are looking for someone who is innovative and has the technical skills to create engaging digital content by translating existing resources to a digital format and creating new content in response to emerging trends and ideas.

Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the ability to work collaboratively, have a knowledge of the community sector and be able to identify interests and issues related to this audience.

We are looking for a new Campaign Manager who is experienced in devising successful PR and comms campaigns to encourage social action. You’ll work with our UK PR Manager to devise a multi-media campaign for Scotland to encourage people to participate in The Great Big Walk and The Big Lunch and engage people in Eden Project Communities nationwide.

Over the coming years we are growing participation in the programme to new heights and aim to increase the social impact we have on communities and neighbourhoods all over the UK.  You’ll help us increase awareness of and participation in all aspects of the programme in Scotland, including Community Camps, Exchange Hubs, The Great Big Walk and The Big Lunch. You’ll work closely with the UK PR Manager, Delivery Manager and Scotland Country Manager as well as the Scotland based Community Connector to deliver your role.

Our ideal candidate will have gained a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role, where they will have managed delivery of a Scotland wide PR and communication campaign within the charity/community sector. Experience of working on behaviour change or movement building campaigns is desirable. A key part of your role is providing a vibrant calendar of events and activities for the programme in a regional context through developing Exchange Hubs and building support networks for those who take part in all our events.

You will be part of a team of Community Connectors and supported by Community Network Manager.

Our ideal candidate will have at a minimum of 2 years’ experience in community development and organizing projects.  You’ll have experience of working in the community sector and in developing local networks and have strong relationship building skills.  A natural host, you’ll be familiar with setting up and running events that bring epiple together and can manage multiple activities running in parallel as part of our busy team.

We are looking for a new Network Manager who loves working with people and communities to join our team. You’ll oversee the development of a network of Exchange Hubs that provide peer support, inspiration and a vibrant calendar of events and activities regionally across the UK.  Working with participants and partners you will also develop the Exchange Hub offer for the South West specifically and manage the England Community Connectors to do the same in their regions.

Over the next 4 years we are growing participation in the programme to new heights and aim to increase the social impact we have on communities and neighbourhoods all over the UK.  You’ll help us increase awareness of and participation in all aspects of the programme, including Community Camps, Exchange Hubs, The Great Big Walk and The Big Lunch.

The right individual will be able to help us by leading the development of the network of Exchange Hubs and managing our Community Camp events at Eden to engage and develop community volunteers in taking their next steps. You’ll work closely with the Delivery Manager and Country Managers as well as the Community Connectors to deliver your role.

Our ideal candidate will have a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role, where you have managed country wide programme delivery within the charity/community sector. Over the coming years we are growing participation in the programme to new heights and aim to increase the social impact we have on communities and neighbourhoods all over the UK.  As a front line ambassador in nation, we want you to lead the development and delivery of Eden Project Communities within a nation. You’ll help us plan, delivery and evaluate Eden Project Communities initiatives working closely with the UK Delivery Manager and Scotland Campaign Manager as well as line managing the Scotland based Community Connector. 

Our ideal candidate will have gained a minimum of three years’ experience in a similar role, where they will have managed delivery of a Scotland wide community programme or movement within the charity/community sector. Experience of working on behaviour change or movement building campaigns is desirable. You’ll be a strategic thinker with strong relationship management abilities, creatively and innovatively solving problems and identify new approaches to deliver a continually evolving programme within Scotland.   A thorough knowledge of the specific challenges affecting local communities and an understanding of the political, cultural and societal issues affecting Scotland is essential.

You will lead in developing, copy writing and sourcing images for all e-communications to our database.  You will work closely with our Digital Marketing Manager to identify themes and create social content for our digital channels.  Supporting a UK wide team from our London office, you’ll provide some admin support including local office management and will be working closely with our Marketing Manager, Digital Marketing Manager, PR Campaign Manager and PR Officer there.

Our ideal candidate will have several years’ experience in a similar role, with knowledge of Customer Relationship Management systems and e-comms development.  You’ll be an experienced copywriter and have a good understanding of the customer journey and how to encourage action through communication.  You’ll be experienced at using social media and writing compelling copy to support a fast paced campaign.

We are looking for a new PR Officer to support our busy little team in London. Over the next 4 years we are growing participation in the programme to new heights and aim to increase the social impact that the programme has on communities and neighbourhoods all over the UK.  The right individual will be able to help us by supporting the development and delivery our busy UK wide PR campaign  including working alongside print and broadcast agencies to amplify our PR campaign each year.

You will develop, grow and maintain our core PR resources and records including case studies, participant and partner contact details, associated photographs and records relating to our PR campaign history.  You’ll be the relationship management point for all media case studies and the individuals and projects involved and will regularly interview and refresh content. Our primary aim will be to upwardly drive awareness and increase participation in The Big Lunch, The Great Big Walk and other relevant initiatives within Eden Project Communities.

Our ideal candidate will have two years’ experience in a PR related role and hold media relations skills. You’ll be a dynamic, highly-organised press officer with strong PR experience and a journalistic nose for a story.  Good knowledge of the media landscape is required, and experience of building target media lists and developing relationships with journalists essential.  You’ll be highly organized and able to build and maintain media contacts (using Agility) and manage case studies effectively. A good network of England media contacts is highly desirable.

We are looking for an exceptional Research Manager to lead on the evaluation and research of our communities work across a rich palette of initiatives.  This work will involve working with external agencies as well as conducting research directly with participants for elements of the programme.  Over the next 4 years we are growing participation in the programme to new heights and aiming to increase the social impact that the programme has on communities and neighbourhoods all over the UK. 

The right individual will be able to help us by leading the development of a research programme across all elements of delivery to help us evidence required funder outcomes and generate an excellent body of information about the social impact of our initiatives.  You will take the lead in developing and implementing a new research strategy across the programme that captures the social impact of what we do, evidences required outcomes and identifies areas of focus for funders and our team. You will be supported by a UK wide team and based in our Eden office working closely with our Programme Director, Delivery Manager and Development Manager.

Our ideal candidate will have at least 5 years’ experience in a similar research position, preferably charity based.  You’ll have experience in project managing and delivering a busy and varied research programme and the ability to analyse and interpret complex data sets and produce and deliver clear and accurate reports and presentations.
