2 Year Contracts
Apprentice pay rate for all vacancies is £3.50 during the first year
Contracts will start in September 2017 and are based on working 40 hours per week 
We are looking for a number of enthusiastic and committed people to take up Apprenticeship positions starting in September.  All apprentices will complete a national recognised Level 2 qualification during their apprenticeship and where individuals excel there is also an opportunity to progress to a Level 3 qualification, where appropriate.

In order to be successful you will need to be motivated and committed to completing the 2 years. We don’t need you to have lots of previous qualifications or experience, we are looking for the right attitude and a willingness to learn and get stuck in!

If you do not have your own transport available you should consider how you will travel to work, as Eden is in a rural location and public transport is not always available.

We are seeking customer facing, presentable and reliable team players to work our busy bars ideally with experience within bar and hospitality industry, able to work well under pressure and as part of a team. Over 18’s only (due to alcohol sales)

You will be experienced at this level, creativity is a must; as is the ability to work individually, be organised and lead by example. Duties will include preparation, cooking and presentation of all dishes as well as overseeing, coaching and training junior staff to deliver at the same level.

Commis Chef

Our ideal candidates will have a passion for food, enthusiasm to learn and the ability to work in a demanding, fast paced environment.  Duties will include preparation, cooking and presentation of all dishes in numerous venues around site.

Events Sous Chef 

£24,500pa 

Full time, permanent position 

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a talented and enthusiastic sous chef to join the Eden Project events team. Eden is one of Cornwall’s most renowned event venues and hosts a wide range of events from weddings; corporate events; parties to residential team building camps, catering from 5 people to 500 people, this role offers the successful candidate plenty of variety. 

As part of the role you will be tasked with creating bespoke menus based on client briefs and adhering to budgets and margins; preparing and delivering dishes in the iconic Eden Project biomes, which taste and presentation match the venue.

During quieter times on events you will also be required to work in other venues on site, including our Mediterranean restaurant and the Eden Kitchen. 

The successful candidate will be creative and passionate about food, a solution finder and a natural team leader, who has the drive and desire to excel in this role. Experience of events and functions would be beneficial but not mandatory.

Game Changer Project Officer

£23,626 pro rata, 32 hours per week

Fixed Term Contract until November 2019

Game Changer will transform the lives of 1035 young people living in challenging circumstances in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly today. It will support them to overcome the complex challenges they face; understand their individual aptitudes and interests; develop skills and experiences; build connectivity and networks; resulting in at least 55% of them moving into work or long term learning.

Eden Project is the lead partner for the Tourism and Leisure sector, creating and delivering relevant experiences of work for 270 young people at Eden and in other tourism and leisure sector organisations through the programme. The Project Officer will bring their experience of working with young people, particularly those who are, or who at risk of becoming, NEET and an understanding of the Cornish employment context.

You’ll bring energy, enthusiasm and commitment to the project, motivated by the chance to improve the life chances of young people in Cornwall and balanced with a calm and methodical approach to getting the job done. You will also have a key role in ensuring the health and safety and safeguarding of participants.

You’ll be confident in interacting with and supporting young people with a variety of life experience and you’ll be confident and effective at promoting the project and its importance both within Eden and with relevant partner organisations. This will require excellent team working and communication skills.

An enhanced DBS check is essential for this role. The cost of this will be met by The Eden Project.

Logistics Services Operative (Site Hygienist)

40 hours per week

Permanent Contract

£7.50 per hour for ages 21 and over, £6.44 for ages 18-20, £5.75 for ages 16-17

We are looking for people to deal with a variety of different tasks across the whole site both in public areas and behind the scenes. 

This will in the main include cleaning of toilets, offices, and associated areas across all of the Eden Project with use of Professional cleaning equipment. 

In addition you will be required at times to assist at the recycling plant based at Eden and thus an understanding of recycling streams would be useful.

You need to be enthusiastic and prove a good level of flexibility as the role will also require driving hence a full driving licence is essential and other tasks at Eden as required offering a service to other site staff.

Knowledge of Health and Safety would also be an advantage however all training for the role would be given as required.

Lead Electrician

Full time, permanent position

An opportunity has arisen to join our maintenance team for this new role to lead the day to day Electrical maintenance for the infrastructure at Eden. 

In order to apply for this role you will be a fully qualified / time served Electrician who has experience in the installation and maintenance of a wide range of electrical equipment. You will also assist to the day to day supervision of other Electricians and junior team members so supervisory experience would be beneficial.

Market Researcher

32 hours per week, £8.25 per hour 

Permanent contract

The market research team are looking for an outgoing and confident person to assist the Research Manager with our busy market research programme. Eden’s visitor research covers an exciting and unique variety of projects, including the Eden Sessions, visitor profiling, sporting events and seasonal programmes evaluation. Funded projects and sponsorship feedback are also amongst the wide range of responsibilities covers in the role.

The successful candidate will ideally have at least 3 years’ experience, preferably in the tourism sector, in the field of market research and of disseminating complex data, as well as being able to communicate with a wide audience. The main responsibilities include questionnaire design, face to face interviewing, data inputting, keeping accurate records, analysis of complex data sets and quantitative and qualitative research techniques. 

The role requires flexibility and the ability to work both as a team and confidently as an individual.

Space Research Writer

Fixed term contract until 03/09/2017

40 Hours per week

£20,011 per annum

Eden Project are looking for a Research Writer to join the Eden Live team on a fixed term basis to take part in our exciting Space project. 

Our major summer holiday programme this year is focused all around this wide and varied subject and we are keen to add a writer to the team who can work with us on taking the vast amount of exciting content and transforming in to copy that will accompany our activities and exhibits.

A background in the subject here is naturally a huge advantage but an ability to take detailed scientific content and adapt and condense it for our varied audience demographic is essential. As such experience in working at other visitor facing science centres is a huge advantage.

The attached job description outlines the role and responsibility of our research writers with this role focusing specifically on space.

The role requires a mix of copy writing, meeting external partners and developing relationships as well as working on the creative and installing the activities and exhibition. 

This is a paid role so we cannot supply accommodation but may be able to help source some locally if relocating for the role.
