The main purpose of the role is to engage with our visitors, to talk to them about the food we serve and ensure that they leave our hospitality venues delighted with the food and level of service they have received. 

Ideally you will have great people skills; be passionate about delivery excellent customer service as well as working within a team.

You will engage with our visitors whist making them drinks, serving them food, or cleaning their tables, demonstrating your product knowledge by advising and making suggestions.

Previous experience working in a customer facing environment would advantageous but is not essential.

Varied hours are available. However you will be required to work weekends and some evenings.

You will need to be able to attend a group interview on Saturday 12th March 2016. 

Initial start date on 24th March 2016.

Community Network Developer – (Midlands & East of England)

This role is home based 

The Big Lunch Programme is a unique community initiative that demonstrates UK wide reach, engagement, positive action and the creation of real social capital.  Since it began in 2009, participation in The Big Lunch, a one day event about increasing community, friendship and fun UK wide, has grown continually with the number of people taking part in 2015 rising to 7.29million.  Alongside this, Big Lunch Extras has been helping people across the UK build the skills and confidence to drive positive social action where it is needed most.

Over the next two years we are growing participation in the programme to new heights and aiming to increase the social impact that the programme has on communities and neighbourhoods all over the UK.

Lead in creating self-sustaining localized support mechanisms for programme participants within a specific territory within the UK.  Increasing programme participation, developing resources, developing and supporting events and building networks will be key elements of the role.

Hours worked will vary but shifts will predominantly be during the day, with additional hours required for our events held on site and Eden Sessions concerts.

Kitchen Porter

This is a key role within the Hospitality team and main duties will include maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen, operating pot wash during busy lunches and in general any other activity which is needed to ensure the safe and efficient running of the kitchen.

Heritage Skills Apprenticeship

17 Month Apprenticeship Contract
National Minimum Wage according to age, up to £7.20 per hour

Eden, working in partnership with Cornwall College and the Heritage Craft Alliance, are delighted to announce our Heritage Skills Apprenticeship programme. The framework consists of an advanced Level 3 Diploma in Heritage Skills (Masonry and Wood), followed by the NVQ Level Diploma in Heritage Skills (Masonry and Wood). Achievement of these qualifications allows an individual to apply for the Gold CSCS card in Heritage Skills. We will be the only centre in the South West to offer this programme.

We are looking for individuals who are passionate about producing quality work. This bespoke qualification will cover all aspects of Masonry and wood occupations including Construction Technology, materials science, measurement, technical drawing and tools and techniques. The apprenticeship also develops skills in construction and maintenance, conservation and repair and understanding of traditional and historic buildings.

In order to be successful you will already hold a Level 2 Qualification in a related field, or you will have substantial on site experience.

We also have places for individuals who are already employed in a suitable role to undertake this course. You will be required to attend Eden for a block release placements for the duration of the apprenticeship.

Heritage Craft Apprentice Supervisor 

Fixed Term Contract until November 2017 

Full time position, 40 hours per week 


Eden, working in partnership with Cornwall College and the Heritage Craft Alliance, are currently recruiting our fist cohort of Heritage Skills Apprentices, working towards an advanced Level 3 Diploma in Heritage Skills (Masonry and Wood), the only centre in the South West to offer this. 

We are looking for a suitably qualified and experienced Supervisor to lead and develop our team of apprentices on their building projects throughout their apprenticeship. You will directly supervise their daily work as well as guide and support them through their studies. 

You will be an experienced construction professional with excellent knowledge of heritage craft techniques and supervisory experience in a construction environment. In order to do this you will have an excellent Health & Safety and site management knowledge and exceptional interpersonal skills.

Paramedic / IHCD Technician

Paramedic/Technician – part time (20 hours per week), permanent position, £20,000pa 

The Eden Project is a busy and diverse organisation with thousands of visitors on site each week. We are looking for a Paramedic to provide medical aid to visitors and staff. 

You will be providing a leadership role when dealing with medical incidents on site and will liaise with other colleagues, including our Health and Safety team, to promote a safe environment for visitors and staff. 

It is essential that you are a qualified Paramedic or an experienced IHCD qualified Ambulance Technician. A full driving licence is essential.  Previous experience as a First Aid trainer would be beneficial .

Retail Buyer

Maternity cover position for up to one year

At the Eden Project we love to wow our customers with ethically sourced and unique products in our fantastic retail outlets.

You will be responsible for driving additional revenue by working with the Senior Retail Buyer, developing and buying products that reflect our ethos and values. A keen knowledge and past experience as a buyer would be beneficial for this position.

Key responsibilities will be to manage the supplier base and review the ranges on offer in conjunction with the Retail Buying team. You will source product, negotiate with your suppliers and manage the promotional calendar. You will also liaise with the retail management team in communicating new products.

Candidates must have previous buying experience gained within the retail sector, either from a retailer, supplier or distributor. You will also need to have strong customer focus and a proactive outlook. Excellent organisation, supplier management and negotiation skills are required along with an eye for developing new products.
