We are looking for a number of enthusiastic and committed people to take up varied Apprenticeship positions starting in October.  All apprentices will complete a national recognised Level 2 qualification with Cornwall College (Graphic Design will be through Plymouth College of Art) during their apprenticeship and where apprentices excel there is also an opportunity to progress to a Level 3 qualification, where appropriate.

We don’t need you to have lots of previous qualifications or experience, we are looking for the right attitude and a willingness to learn and get stuck in!
If you do not have your own transport available you should consider how you will travel to work, as Eden is in a rural location and public transport is not always available.

Cashier

We are looking for a new team member to join our Cashiers team on a part time permanent basis. 

Working with a small team you will manage all cash moved through the business supporting various other Eden Teams.  We are looking for someone with experience of working in a cash office or with large sums of cash, ideally (but not essential) in a business of a similar size.

You will be expected to have achieved GCSE level A-C for Maths and English (or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate good levels of numeracy and literacy and be a competent user of Microsoft Excel or similar software.  Eden is a unique year round visitor destination, offering a wide seasonal programme; as such the role requires weekend and evening working. You will be a good communicator, able to respond to changing demands and be flexible and responsive to support the changing business models across the seasons.

Logistics Services Operative 

30 hours per week

The Eden project is a unique visitor attraction and this is a unique role to fill. 

We are looking for people to deal with a variety of different tasks across the whole site both in public areas and behind the scenes. 

This will in the main include cleaning of toilets, offices, and associated areas across all of the Eden Project with use of Professional cleaning equipment. 

In addition you will be required at times to assist at the recycling plant based at Eden and thus an understanding of recycling streams would be useful.

You need to be enthusiastic and prove a good level of flexibility as the role will also require driving hence a full driving licence is essential and other tasks at Eden as required offering a service to other site staff.

Knowledge of Health and Safety would also be an advantage however all training for the role would be given as required.

If you have a passion for food, a commitment to the development of staff and have experience in a role of a similar level then this is the job for you!

You will be experienced at this level, creativity is a must; as is the ability to work individually, be organised and lead by example. Duties will include preparation, cooking and presentation of all dishes as well as overseeing, coaching and training junior staff to deliver at the same level.

Governance Coordinator (Higher Apprenticeship)

£15,000pa in year one, rising to £16,000pa in year 2
2 year contract, 40 hours per week

We are looking for a highly organised and motivated individual for this new position within Eden.

You will work closely with our Company Secretary and will provide administrative support, including Board Papers, legal compliance, insurance and risk management, to the executive team.

In order to be successful you will have an excellent attention to detail and the ability to work alongside senior colleagues, you will have experience in an administration role and be willing to work towards a degree level qualification.

Alongside work you will also study part time at Truro College for a Level 4 Diploma in Business and Administration.

Hospitality Assistant

The main purpose of the role is to engage with our visitors, to talk to them about the food we serve and ensure that they leave our hospitality venues delighted with the food and level of service they have received. 

Ideally you will have great people skills; be passionate about delivery excellent customer service as well as working within a team.

You will engage with our visitors whist making them drinks, serving them food, or cleaning their tables, demonstrating your product knowledge by advising and making suggestions. 

Previous experience working in a customer facing environment would advantageous but is not essential. 

Varied hours are available. However you will be required to work weekends and some evenings.

Membership Assistant

We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual with excellent people skills to join us for the summer. If you think that you have the passion and personality to inspire visitors to discover more with the great benefits of Eden Project Membership, then this is the job for you!
Working in the Visitor Centre, you will encourage visitors to join as Members in this rewarding role which involves chatting to visitors of all ages and nationalities, and sometimes even their dogs. For this role you will need to maintain a positive outlook in a busy work environment, and training on face-to-face sales techniques will be provided. Working hours are mainly Monday – Friday, 10am – 3pm with some occasional weekend working required.

The Narrator Team are looking to recruit new members to join their team to enhance the visitor experience on site at Eden.

You will give a warm and friendly welcome to all visitors, engaging in conversation, responding to questions and providing assistance to enhance the visitor's experience and to reinforce their relationship with Eden, its aims and ethos. 

You will be a confident communicator who feels comfortable approaching people to start a conversation and you will have previous experience in a customer service role, providing a world class service to our visitors.

The Project Accountant opportunity is a new role critical to the next stage of our growth phase. Reporting to the Head of Financial Planning you will help shape and drive financial excellence on projects including Eden Project Learning (our Apprenticeship and Degree partnership with Cornwall College); the Big Lunch programme; brand licensing projects; the Hangloose partnership, the Youth Hostel partnership; the new Hotel capital build; the geothermal project; the capital expenditure budget and key temporary and permanent exhibits and productions.

You will be joining a Finance team of 10 in our bright, friendly and open plan offices at Eden’s headquarters on site in Bodelva, Cornwall. This is a full-time role, with applications welcome from both local and relocating applicants.

It goes without saying that you will be a qualified Accountant (ACCA, CIMA or ACA) with chartered membership of relevant awarding body and at least two years’ experience working in a project Finance role, or similar, with extensive technical financial interpretation and expert financial modelling skills.

A distinct advantage would be demonstrable commercial experience in financial modelling and interpretation of commercial contracts with partner, customer or supplier collaboration.

The ‘Link Lodge’ is at the heart of the Eden Project, the staff gathering area where our teams meet up over a delicious lunch, served by our friendly and welcoming staff food team.

You will serve up to 130 of your colleagues on a daily basis with a range of hot and cold food options. You will need to keep kitchen areas clean and tidy, ensuring that good practises of food hygiene and health and safety standards are adhered to at all times.

Experience of working with food in a professional kitchen environment and a level 2 food hygiene certificate, or knowledge of health and safety and food hygiene would be an advantage.

This summer the Eden Project is looking for various Seasonal Narrators to lead and engage with our visitors in our Dinosaur Uprising programme.

We are seeking creative, inspirational, highly self-motivated and capable individuals to form a team that fires the imagination of all ages in exploring the world of Dinosaurs, palaeontology and Explorers.  

For each role you will need to be focused, enthusiastic, show initiative, be a good team player and have experience working with all age ranges especially children.

This role involves 3 main elements; hosting the immersive dinosaur exhibition, running the Dig Pit and running various dinosaur adventure activities.

You will need a constant welcoming smile, the ability to talk to people of all ages and great queue busting and crowd control technique.

You will be working outside and inside in two dedicated spaces, with an extensive range of materials in a physically demanding role with some manual handling involved.

This summer the Eden Project is looking for various Seasonal Narrators to lead and engage with our visitors in our Dinosaur Uprising programme.

We are seeking creative, inspirational, highly self-motivated and capable individuals to form a team that fires the imagination of all ages in exploring the world of Dinosaurs, palaeontology and Explorers.  

For each role you will need to be focused, enthusiastic, show initiative, be a good team player and have experience working with all age ranges especially children.
This role will be responsible for the animation of the smaller dinosaur puppets and looking after and introducing the larger puppets to our visitors during our summer holidays dinosaur programme. You will be bringing to life a range of dinosaurs for the visitors and through puppetry and performance, engaging them with amazing facts. For this role you must have experience with performance and puppetry and with public engagement.
