Eden set to dazzle this Christmas with magnificent music and enchanting festive lights

The Eden Project in Cornwall is pulling out all the stops to create a magical festive experience full of music and light across the site of the world-famous Biomes this Christmas.

On select dates between Friday December 2 and Friday December 30, the site will be open until 8pm and visitors will be treated to a beautiful display of twinkling lights.

The festive atmosphere weaves around the Outdoor Gardens with captivating light displays and the return of Eden’s Tunnel of Lights leading to the Biomes.

The Mediterranean Biome will set a joyous scene bathed in an ethereal glow of lights while live musicians will deliver a medley of orchestral music, filling every corner with seasonal favourites - with a modern twist.

Meanwhile the Rainforest Biome will unfold into a scene of magnificent light displays gleaming beneath the canopy. Hundreds of suspended fiberoptic lights, glistening orbs, lasers and sparkling lights will transport visitors to an enchanted forest world.

Eden Live’s Production Manager, Tamsyn Lewis, said: “We can’t wait to unveil this year’s Christmas experience at Eden. It’s always a special time of year when we get to spread some joy and create an experience unlike anything normally seen at Eden.

“Of course, no Christmas experience would be complete without a visit to Father Christmas. This year, our pre-bookable 40-minute sessions will see Father Christmas and his elves share a story about Elfie the elf, whose first season in the job sees them overcoming their nerves and saving Christmas.

“Each child will get a chance to meet Father Christmas personally to share those all-important Christmas wishes before taking home a fun-filled story and activity book and chocolates.”

Other highlights include Eden’s glittering ice rink, open right the way through until February 19, 2023, offering general 40-minute slots, lessons and family sessions.

A nourishing new menu of hearty winter warmers offers the ideal pitstop in the Link Kitchen, featuring seasonal dishes made from locally-sourced ingredients, including butternut mac ‘n cheese and squash and chickpea curry.

Nothing quite says Christmas like a crisp walk with the family as leaves crunch underfoot, and with more than 24 acres of ever-changing outdoor gardens to explore, followed by a warming cup of hot chocolate, Eden certainly ticks the box.

For residents of Devon and Cornwall, Eden’s Winter Locals’ Pass launched on November 1, providing more than two-thirds off standard admission prices and granting access up to the end of March 2023.

The Eden Project Christmas experience will take place on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from December 2, daily from December 15 right up until December 23, and then from December 27-30.
