We want all children and young people to explore the rainforest, to spark their curiosity, and discover their power to protect our planet. But for schools facing stretched budgets, the cost of travel alone puts an Eden visit out of reach, and many children are missing out.
The Eden Roots Fund exists to change that.
How your support can help
In the last 24 years, we’ve welcomed school groups through our doors, and in that time, more than a million children and young people have experienced unforgettable, life-affirming moments. These visits don’t just spark wonder, they shape futures. We now hear stories from former students whose time at Eden inspired their careers, their values, and their commitment to protecting our planet.
Your support will help unlock access for children and young people by covering travel and providing a travel bursary that schools can apply for. Your generosity opens the doors to nature rich, hands on learning — the kind of experience that stays with a child for life.
We believe every young person should have the chance to come to the Eden Project, and with your help they can.
Examples of what your donation could mean:
- £10 typically supports two children to travel to Eden
- £25 typically supports a group of five children to travel to Eden
- £150 typically supports a class of children to travel to Eden
- £300 covers the full bursary for one school

Unfortunately, the coach companies are asking almost double what we paid last year... it simply is too expensive for our parents so we will need to cancel our trip to the Eden Project. I know that the children would have loved to have visited.
Learn more about our fund
The Eden Roots Fund has been created to bring Eden’s mission to as many schools and young people as possible, by significantly reducing the travel cost barrier that often stands in the way of educational school visits.
Support from the Eden Roots fund will be available to state primary, secondary, SEND schools and Pupil Referral Units with a higher level of pupils eligible for Free School Meals. The fund supports visits to Eden Project Cornwall and for those taking part in the workshop programme during the current academic year. This means that it is children who face the greatest economic disadvantage, as they wouldn't usually have the opportunity to experience the life-changing impact that a visit to Eden will have.
We’re aiming to raise £20,000 for the fund, which will be enough to support visits for up to 3,300 additional children and young people. The fund will be refreshed every term, meaning any donations raised beyond our target will roll over to support school visits in the following term.
To keep the fund viable, we need to raise a minimum of £1,000. If we fall short of this threshold, all donations will still make a difference, by helping to provide vital resources for Eden’s education programmes and continuing our work to inspire young minds.
