The hugely popular USA-based band are already scheduled to play a sold-out show on May 17, 2002.  Now it is announced that they will also appear the previous evening, May 16.

Rita Broe, Managing Director of Eden Sessions Ltd, said today: “Since we announced My Chemical Romance would be coming to Eden the response from fans has been incredible.

“We’re delighted to now be able to say they will play an additional show on May the 16th.  We’re sure their huge army of fans will be as thrilled as we are at this amazing coup.”

My Chemical Romance were drawn to appear at the home of the world-renowned environmental and educational charity due to Eden’s green credentials and ground-breaking programmes aimed at inspiring and educating people about humanity’s reliance on the natural world.

The band formed in Newark, New Jersey, and made their debut in 2002 with the independently released album I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love.

They signed to Reprise Records the following year and made their major label debut with Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge in 2004. The album contained the Platinum hit I'm Not Okay (I Promise), the Gold-certified Helena, and The Ghost of You.

The three-times Platinum The Black Parade was hailed by Rolling Stone magazine as one of the top albums of 2006. The lead single Welcome to the Black Parade topped both Billboard's Alternative Songs tally and the UK Official Singles Chart.

The band toured extensively behind the album - appearing as characters from The Black Parade - and released the live album The Black Parade is Dead! in 2008.

Danger Days: The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys was released in 2010 and topped Billboard's Alternative Albums and Top Rock Albums charts. It was followed by a series of singles later released as Conventional Weapons in 2013.

Tickets for the My Chemical Romance Eden Session on Monday May 16, 2022, cost £65 plus a £7.80 booking fee and go on sale to Inside Track passholders on Monday December 6 at 12 noon.   Tickets go on general sale at 10 am on Friday December 10.

Already confirmed for the 2022 Eden Sessions are Lionel Richie, who will play on June 14, 2022 (sold out), Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds on June 15, 2022, Diana Ross on June 21, 2022, and Bryan Adams on June 29, 2022 (sold out).

Eden held a successful series of Sessions this September (2021) with Ben Howard, McFly, Royal Blood, Snow Patrol, The Script, and IDLES playing memorable concerts in front of the Biomes.

In September 2019 the Eden Project and global live events company AEG Presents announced a new partnership, Eden Sessions Ltd, to run the Eden Sessions.

In September this year Volvo Car UK announced a new three-year partnership as the Official Automotive Partner of the Eden Project and the Eden Sessions music concerts, a deal brokered by AEG Global Partnerships.

This long-term collaboration aims to inspire and educate visitors about people’s relationship with the environment and how we can protect the planet to create a safer future.
