Emma Vyvyan, Headteacher Designate, said: ‘The first cohort of children and families to attend the school and nursery will be like little acorns that will grow with the school, helping to turn it into a great oak tree that inspires others over generations to come.’

Jennie Walker, Trust CEO, said: ‘The Trust is delighted to be able to access an established outdoor learning environment for exceptional learning opportunities.’

Sam Kendall, Education Manager at Eden, said: We’re so looking forward to hosting the first children to attend Sky Primary and Eden Project Nursery at the Eden Project site. It’s a wonderful opportunity to further develop our educational collaboration with Kernow Learning.

This news has come at the same time as the Department for Education has launched a consultation on the draft sustainability and climate change strategy, first announced at COP26. The DfE are inviting education and childcare settings to respond to an anonymous survey to collate views on the draft strategy.

The permanent school site will be prepared and landscaped ready for the rapid installation of the school building which is largely being constructed off-site. It has been approved for planning and will be one of the first net-zero carbon schools in the country.

This school will be a state-funded primary school which will deliver a nature-inspired creative curriculum with a global and sustainable education ethos. The Trust are committed to providing this curriculum offer from day one. For more information on our curriculum offer, watch this short video - https://youtu.be/Rz1X13D_cmE

There will be a series of taster sessions where families are invited to meet the Headteacher Designate, Emma Vyvyan, and experience elements of the exciting school offer. The first taster session is being held at the Wheal Martyn Museum on Tuesday 1st March from 3.30pm – 5.00pm. A link to the booking form can be found on the school website (www.sky.kernowlearning.co.uk) or Facebook page (@SkyPrimary).
