About Arenal
The town of La Fortuna is where you find Arenal Volcano National Park. Costa Rica has many volcanoes but Arenal is the ‘landmark volcano’ because of its perfect cone shape. The landscape here is ruggedly captivating and it is one of the best spots for adventure activities. Zip-line through the cloud forest, hike to waterfalls then relax in thermal pools – this is a diverse and fascinating region.

Costa Rica has two coastlines, the Caribbean and Pacific – both offer a different experience. On the Pacific coast, you will find mainly dry forests and biodiversity that can survive in the tropics. Its waters are filled with tropical marine life including whales, making the pacific great for water activities such as snorkelling, diving and surfing.
Manuel Antonio is one of the smallest national parks in the country found on the Pacific coast, however, it’s considered one of the most charming due to its stunning beach and rocky outcrops backed by lush forests. Its network of trails will take you past reptiles, sloths, monkeys and over 950 species of birds.

1. There is one prize of an 8-day holiday for two people in Costa Rica, including 1nt in San José, 3nts Arenal and 3nts Manuel Antonio occupying one room in mid-range hotels on a B&B basis, transfers in Costa Rica, international flights to and from the UK in economy class, and two half-day shared excursions in Arenal and Manuel Antonio National Parks.
2. The prize does NOT include transfers to the airport in the UK, any meals other than those stated or spending money. Inoculations, visas, tips and adequate travel insurance are the responsibility of the winner and are not covered by the prize.
3. The winner must book their travel by 01 November 2026 and complete all travel between:
- 1 May – 30th June 2027
- 1 September – 30 November 2027
Dates are subject to availability. Alternative travel dates are not available.
4. Once the trip is booked and confirmed, any amendments to the booking will be at the winner’s cost.
5. Entrants must be UK residents aged 18 years or over and in possession of a full UK passport. Employees of Journey Latin America, or of Eden Project, or their families or any agencies or persons connected with this competition may not enter.
6. The winners may be required to submit valid identification before receiving their prize.
7. Journey Latin America and Eden Project will not accept any liability for any loss or damages suffered whilst on this trip. Journey Latin America’s standard terms and conditions of travel apply and can be found at www.journeylatinamerica.com
8. Only one entry per person.
9. No responsibility will be accepted for lost or delayed entries. Photocopies of the entry form will not be accepted.
10. The prizes must be accepted as offered. There is no cash or other alternative. The promoter reserves the right to substitute the prize with one of an equivalent or greater value. The prize is non-transferable.
11. The winner accepts that they may be required to submit an image of themselves in Costa Rica for Journey Latin America to use on their social media channels, website and e-newsletters and that their initials as well as town of residence may be used in promotional materials.
12. Entrants agree to be bound by all entry instructions of which these terms and conditions from a part.
13. The Promoter’s decision is final and no correspondence will be entered into.
14. The Joint Promoters are Journey Latin America Ltd, 401 King Street, London W6 9NJ and Eden Project, Bodelva, St Austell, Cornwall, PL24 2SG.
15. The competition will close at 23:59 on Wednesday 30 September 2026 (BST). Entries submitted after the entry period will not be considered.
16. Winner selection: the winner will be randomly selected from all eligible entries, and contacted by 5 October 2026. If the winner does not respond within 48 hours after notification the Eden Project reserves the right to draw a new winner.
17. Also included in the prize in an Individual Family Membership to the Eden Project. This is non-refundable and non-transferable. Membership cards are for the named card holder only and Members are not permitted to allow another person to use their Membership card.
