Rainforest Reconnect

This live streamed event is a 45 minute immersive digital experience that we hope will help you relax from the comfort of your own home with the aim of connecting you with nature.

Rainforest Reconnect is brought to you as part of the Eden Universe – a Department of digital, culture, media and sport (DCMS) testbed that has enabled us to test whether 5G technologies can enhance the Eden Project customer experience digitally – to learn more please have a look at the project overview below.

Project Overview

Eden Cornwall has installed an array of technologies including industry leading 360 degree cameras from our partners at Meta Cameras which you, our audience will be utilizing tonight – so when listening to the music and watching the wellness activities are we urge you to move your camera angle around and really experience world of 360 viewing. 

The event will feature music created by Alice Boyd, and sung by six singers, that she created after an artist residency at the Eden Project as part of her work on Sound and Music’s New Voices programme.

During her residency, Alice collected data from the plants in the rainforest biome utilising a device that detects changes in the electrical current across a plant’s leaves. These changes were then translated into musical notes and has created the electronic scores you will hear tonight.
