About our food

The delicious food we serve in our cafés reflects the stories we tell in our exhibits. Our food is responsibly sourced, fairly traded, single-source, seasonal and/or local and freshly made, often in front of your eyes.

Award-winning catering

Our family food came second in the 2018 Soil Association’s league table of children’s food at UK attractions, which ranks the nation's top family attractions according to the healthy eating value of the meals available.

Dietary requirements

We cater for vegetarians, vegans, meat-eaters, gluten-free diets, and those with other dietary requirements. Please tell a member of staff if you have particular dietary requirements and they'll do their best to help you. 

Our dish descriptions don’t list all the ingredients, but we highlight on our menus key things our dishes contain (egg, meat, dairy, nuts, fish, soya, gluten) so that people with a variety of dietary requirements can see at a glance if they need to avoid a dish. Look out for these on our online menus and in our cafés.
