Why storytelling matters

Storytelling has always been an important part of how we help people connect with the natural world. Through stories, we can inspire curiosity, imagination and wonder while encouraging a deeper understanding of nature, science and conservation.

Whether you're meeting an author, listening to a favourite story or exploring our Biomes, this weekend offers plenty of opportunities to discover new books and share the joy of reading together.

Part of the National Year of Reading

The Celebration of Stories Weekend forms part of Eden Project's support for the National Year of Reading 2026, a nationwide initiative encouraging children, young people and adults to discover the benefits and enjoyment of reading.
