Jack, his mum and their cow Daisy are in trouble. Their house is leaking, the phone’s cut off, there's no food in the fridge – and they’ve got NITS! Something's got to change and what happens next is an exciting adventure for all girls and boys who believe in magic.

Light Theatre presents an enchanting show for primary school children and their families, running on selected days at Eden over the Summer of Celebration. Set in present-day Cornwall, beautiful hand carved puppets, illusion and amazing experiments are used to re-tell the classic story of Jack and the Giant who lives through the clouds and over the rainbow.

A group of early-career Cornish performers brought together during Covid to train, perform and work through the toughest of times. Their performances on site will include elements of their previous works: The Scaffal Dance, a new May pole dance celebrating the clay district's industrial past, The Distanced Dance, originally made for Kneehigh's Random Acts of Art, and will also feature micro-choreographies that use performance-parkour to explore the unique architecture of Eden's gardens.

A bluffers’ guide to Cornish Miracle and Mystery plays. Hall for Cornwall, in association with o-region, present an irreverent whistle-stop performance which demystifies a trilogy of Cornish play texts, said to be some of the oldest surviving in Britain. This 20-minute pop-up performance will encourage you to visit Kresen Kernow, where the manuscripts are on display until September.

10.30am, 12pm and 3pm in the Mediterranean Biome    

Wendy Shearer is a professional storyteller and writer with a diverse repertoire of stories featuring tricksters, shapeshifters, ancient Greek heroes, gods and goddesses, which is drawn mostly from her Afro-Caribbean heritage. She has recently published two books: African and Caribbean Folktales, Myths and Legends; and Caribbean Folktales: Stories from the Islands and the Windrush Generation. Wendy will be storytelling in our Mediterranean Biome three times a day and encouraging everyone to jump into the stories with her. 

10.30am, 1pm and 3pm

These performances will bring together live music, carnival, street costume, puppetry, and dance, drawing on diverse influences from Europe, Latin America, the Caribbean, and Africa.

11am and 2pm

A brand-new show commissioned by The Time & Tide Bell Organisation and supported by Creative Civic Change. This new performance takes up the global flood myth to explore rising sea levels, and what this means for our coastal communities.

1, 8, 15, 22 and 29 August at 8.30am

We’ll be opening early on Sunday across summer to allow those who may benefit from a more informal experience, such as those with autism and sensory or communication needs, to enjoy site at their own pace. Please note that this will just be entry to site, and performances won’t be taking place during this time.
