Create a bespoke trip

If we don’t offer exactly what you’re after then work with our educators to create a unique programme for your students by combining the following elements:

  • An overnight stay at YHA Eden Project's on-site accommodation
  • Facilitated sessions with the Eden team
  • Behind-the-scenes access to the extraordinary Eden site
  • Delicious locally sourced meals in our charming restaurants
  • Evening events and activities such as dinner in the Mediterranean Biome or a presentation in the Rainforest Biome
  • Adventure activities like a ride on our zip wire or giant swing or, in the winter, a spin on our ice rink

To create a tailormade trip like this we do need a minimum of six weeks' lead time.

'Thank you for the wonderful programme you put together for us. It was organised with so much thought and care. It was a truly inspirational visit.'

What’s special about an educational trip to Eden:

  • Active learning
Leave the classroom behind and engage students using head, heart, and hands providing them with a learning experience that lasts.
  • Real-life examples
Bring subjects to life with real world examples allowing students to learn from things that have been tried and tested at Eden, from sustainable construction to rural regeneration.
  • Positive approach
Students come away from Eden with optimism, imagination and ideas. We created Eden from a hole in the ground; you can do it too!
  • Thought-provoking
The stories that we share invite students to engage in problem-solving and debate around complex issues.
  • Immersive learning
Eden’s Biomes allow students to explore the whole world in one day – including a huge rainforest, which is fully accessible to all. We can't think of a more exciting place to learn.

Frequently asked questions

When should we visit?

We welcome facilitated education groups at Eden from Monday to Friday during term time. As Eden can be very busy at peak times of the year, you may find visiting outside the main tourist season more rewarding.

How much time should we allow?

In our experience, many institutes find they have not allowed enough time to explore Eden when planning their visit. Our site is large and four hours or more is best for a worthwhile exploration. If you book your group onto one of our workshops, we’d recommend you allow extra time to explore the site as well.

Where should we stay?

YHA Eden Project, located at Eden itself, is the most convenient place to stay for your school trip. The innovative en-suite accommodation is made of shipping containers! Find out more about accommodation near Eden.

How many tutors should we bring?

It's totally up to you, but our suggested ratio for tutors/students is 1:10, or with 3 to 4 tutors accompanying groups over 40. Any helpers above and beyond this will be charged £14.75 per adult (£10.50 for concession helpers).

Where can we eat?

You'll find fabulous places to eat at the Eden Project, including right inside the Mediterranean Biome, a deli-style cafe, and the huge Eden Kitchen where chefs prepare fresh food in front of your eyes.

Is Eden suitable for students with special educational needs?

We are committed to supporting visits for those with special educational needs. We aim to create equal opportunities for everybody to experience, learn about and get involved in the Eden Project. You might find our Access Guide helpful. Please tell us your requirements when you make your booking.

What about health and safety?

Don’t worry, we do our utmost to ensure that your visit is fun, worthwhile and safe. Please download our health and safety guidelines.

How can I book our trip?

All college and university visits should be booked in advance by filling in our college and university booking enquiry form. Your institute will be invoiced after your visit. Please note that only education groups with a confirmed booking are eligible for our discounted education rates.
