Today (24 March), HM The King and HM The Queen paid a visit to Cornwall’s iconic visitor attraction and educational charity the Eden Project to mark its 25th anniversary and launch The Big Lunch and The Big Help Out, the nation’s biggest celebration of community, taking place on 5-8 June.
The Eden Project is once again partnering with Anthropy, the UK’s leading platform for shaping a better future, as the transformational national gathering returns to Cornwall from 25–27 March 2026.
The Eden Project is celebrating the arrival of spring following the second wettest winter on record, as more than 130,000 new bulbs and thousands of emerging plants and trees brighten its 200‑acre landscape. Spectacular springtime colour now blooms across the iconic Biomes and the 28 acres of outdoor gardens, as well as through the wider 180‑acre estate with its landscaped approaches, meadows, woodlands and orchards.
The Eden Project has planted 50 cherry blossom trees in the charity’s dedicated Japanese Garden as part of the Sakura Cherry Tree Project.
Forty education and community leaders from the Morecambe Bay Curriculum (MBC) travelled to the Eden Project Cornwall this month for a significant collaboration event designed to shape the educational offer at the much‑anticipated Eden Project Morecambe, opening in 2028.
Budding Eden Project horticulture apprentices and students have cultivated a host of accolades and awards in the first quarter of 2026, adding to celebrations for the educational charity, which celebrated 25 years of leading the way in demonstrating positive nature connections on 17 March.
The Big Lunch, an Eden Project initiative, brings over 10 million people together for the UK’s largest annual community celebration. This year The Big Lunch and The Big Help Out are teaming up on 5–8 June for a weekend of friendship, food, fun and action – and everyone’s invited!
