The Forest Restoration Research Unit (FORRU) is a research team that works to restore tropical forests by developing science-based methods for biodiversity conservation, environmental protection and carbon storage. They support local communities in restoring tropical forests, working mostly in Thailand.

The photojournalist Sebastian Salgado and Lélia Deluiz Wanick Salgado started the Instituto Terra project in 1998 in a mission to re-grow part of the Brazilian Atlantic Forest. Over 2,000 hectares have been reforested. 

Instituto Raoni protects the rights of indigenous communities and prevents deforestation in the Brazilian Amazon. Set up by Chief Raoni of the Kayapó tribe, a winner of the UN Equator prize in 2015. See the film in the Core.

FairWild certifies the sustainable collection of wild plants, helping to protect the surrounding environment and ensure collectors experience fair working conditions and pay.  

Soil Association Organic certifies farms and food produced in a way that sustain the health of soils, ecosystems, animals, and people. This means farming using natural solutions, no genetically modified organisms (GMOs), and techniques that boost biodiversity. So, when you see the Soil Association organic symbol, you know that the food has been produced to the highest standards. 

Fair for Life aims to safeguard human rights across the entire supply chain (producers and cooperatives, workers and employers, farmers and buyers), and ensures good working conditions and fair pay.  

Fairtrade supports fairer pay and puts and means more power in the hands of farmers and workers, so they can improve their quality of life and increase community resilience. 

Rainforest Alliance works to protect forests, promote climate-smart land management, safeguard workers’ rights, and improve livelihoods, so that people and nature can thrive together.
