Food and drink
- Breakfast, lunch and afternoon tea every day
- Seasonal menu of hot dishes, pasties, sandwiches and desserts
The delicious food we serve in our cafes reflects the stories we tell in our exhibits. Our food is responsibly sourced, fairly traded, single-source, seasonal and/or local and freshly made, often in front of your eyes.
Please note that at less busy times of the year, some of our catering venues may not be open.
Our family food offer topped the Soil Association’s 2016 Out To Lunch league table of visitor attractions, which aimed to find the best attraction for freshly prepared, healthy and sustainable food.
We cater for vegetarians, vegans, meat-eaters, gluten-free diets, and those with other dietary requirements. Please tell a member of staff if you have particular dietary requirements and they will do their best to help you.
Our dish descriptions don’t always mention all the ingredients, but we try and highlight on our menus some key things our dishes contain so people with a variety of dietary requirements can see at a glance if they need to avoid a dish. Here’s a quick overview of what the symbols mean – look out for these on our online menus:
- E=Contains egg
- M=Contains meat
- D=Contains dairy
- N=Contains nuts
- F=Contains fish
- S=Contains soya
- G=Contains gluten
