The Big Lunch
We kickstarted The Big Lunch, an annual neighbourhood get-together helping people transform the places they live.
Thank you for joining us to mark the Coronation on 6-8 May 2023 for a long weekend of talks, music, friendship, fun and more. Including a Coronation Big Lunch picnic area with a big screen live broadcast of the Coronation ceremony on Saturday 6 May!
Get the best value tickets by booking online! Save money pre-booking entry to Eden online rather than buying tickets at the Visitor Centre – see our admission prices. Exclusively for this weekend we will also be offering free entry for those aged 25 and under (T&Cs apply).
Please note that entry to the Eden Project is not guaranteed without an advanced booking. All visitors to Eden are strongly encouraged to pre-book a time slot in advance of each visit, including Members, Passholders, and those who can visit for free.
The day of the Coronation itself! Join us in our Coronation Big Lunch Social hub, where you can chat and get to know others, whilst watching the full ceremony live on a big screen as part of the official celebrations for the Coronation of Their Majesties King Charles III & Queen Camilla. Pull up a deckchair, bring your own food or pick up a tasty treat from one of our cafés and test your competitive skills with giant games of Jenga and Connect 4. We’ll also be hosting Fifteen Minutes for the Future, giving you the change to try the revolutionary idea of what can be achieved within just a quarter of an hour.
Hear from our incredible line-up of inspiring speakers and enjoy live music across site from Alex Robertson Trio and Karnos Brass Band!
Paralympian, broadcaster and disability advocate, Ade Adepitan, will talk about connecting with each other and with nature, and travelling to the frontline of climate change; Chef Tom Hunt will explore his sustainability manifesto Root to Fruit eating; as well as a youth panel featuring great charities making the case for youth-led change.
On Big Help Out Day, Eden will be shining a spotlight on the importance of making community connections and opportunities to learn about the charity and volunteer sector by hosting talks on “How to give back to your community” by St Austell Foodbanks; screening films on sustainability by Cornwall Climate Care in the lab; and running craft sessions and a talk by Black Voices Cornwall.
Exclusively for this weekend we're offering FREE entry for visitors aged 25 and under during our Coronation event on 6-8 May!
The free entry ticket is valid for a single entry for one day only. All tickets are subject to availability and all children visiting Eden must be accompanied by an adult.
To take advantage of this offer, the full party must pre-book their admission on our website. Please note that all adults not included in the offer must have a valid form of admission.
If you’re booking tickets for adults only, please book General Admission via the button at the top of the page. Please note that all adults not included in the offer must have a valid form of admission.
Please note, this offer has now ended.
An idea from the Eden Project, The Big Lunch is the UK’s annual community celebration for neighbours and communities, bringing people together to share friendship, food and fun.
This year, tens of thousands of events will see millions of people getting together at Coronation Big Lunches in their communities to celebrate the Coronation, and we have created spaces throughout this special weekend for communities to come together to celebrate with each other at Eden, the home of The Big Lunch.
If you’re joining from home, celebrate the Coronation with your community with our free Coronation Big Lunch pack with activities, craft ideas, recipes and more!
