The Big Lunch neighbourhood get-together
- Date: 6-7 June 2020
- Where: Your own neighbourhood!
The Big Lunch is the UK's biggest annual get-together for neighbours. It's a simple idea from the Eden Project: that as many people as possible across the UK have lunch with their neighbours annually on a weekend in June in a simple act of community, friendship and fun.
What is a Big Lunch?
The Big Lunch is about millions of people getting together to share food, have fun and get to know each other better. A Big Lunch can be anything from a small gathering in a garden, park or driveway, to a bigger party with tables down the middle of your street.
Why host a Big Lunch?
Getting together and sharing a bite to eat over a natter is fun, it’s as simple as that. We’ve also seen that great things happen when people get together; in 2019, 4 million new friendships were formed because of The Big Lunch, and a whopping 98% felt more communities should hold a Big Lunch where they live.
How to get involved
We’re busy preparing our popular Big Lunch starter packs for 2020, and they'll be available via The Big Lunch website soon. In the meantime, why not save the date (6-7 June 2020) and start chatting with your neighbours?
