Geothermal energy: how deep is the Eden Project drilling?
We’re building a geothermal plant on our site to harness naturally occurring sustainable energy from the rock deep underground.
The aim is to produce all the heat Eden needs – enough for our Biomes, offices and nursery greenhouses – by drilling a well 4.9km into the ground.
This geothermal project is one of the ways we’re aiming to be climate positive by 2030.
