We don’t need you to have lots of previous qualifications or experience, we are looking for the right attitude and a willingness to learn and get stuck in!

Art, Exhibits and Exhibitions Curator (Interpretation)

Fixed term contract (maternity cover) until June 2019
32 hours per week
£27,345 pa pro-rata

We are looking for a curator to project manage the curation of artworks, exhibits and exhibitions installations as part of Eden Project’s Invisible Worlds (IW) project.

The post-holder should be experienced in developing and delivering innovative and exciting programmes of commissions, exhibitions and events. These will be linked to contemporary narratives within the Invisible Worlds programme. Experience in all aspects of curatorial project management and exhibition design including budget, people and time management is essential. Experience of producing designed artwork and plans is desirable.

You will require knowledge of local (especially mid and East Cornwall), national and international art networks and will need an understanding of the criteria associated with Wellcome Trust and Arts Council supported projects. You will be working as part of a multi-disciplinary team and will be liaising with a range of partner organisations. For this role you will need to be a quick thinker, adaptable, patient and calm under pressure. An enthusiasm for outdoor, sculptural and digital art and working outside the gallery environment would be an advantage.

This is a great opportunity to contribute towards Eden’s growing arts programme.

Biome Caretaker

40 hours per week, fixed term contract until 30th September 2018
Hourly pay rate – Age 17-18 £5.85, Age 19-20 £6.54, Age 21+ £7.93

We are looking for someone to work with our Horticulture team to keep our Rainforest, Mediterranean, Outdoor Biomes and Watering Lane Nursery (Pentewan) looking their best!

The role will include routine cleaning and horticultural maintenance within our biomes and horticulture’s back of house facilities. Experience of using leaf blowers, power washers and other small machinery would be beneficial.

A driving licence is essential for this position as you will be required to drive a number of Eden’s vehicles to transport tools and waste around the site, as well as transport yourself to Watering Lane nursery which is remote and not suitable by public transport.

We are looking for chefs to join our experienced and passionate team.

If you have a passion for food, a commitment to the development of staff and have experience in a role of a similar level then this is the job for you!

You will be experienced at this level, creativity is a must; as is the ability to work individually, be organised and lead by example. Duties will include preparation, cooking and presentation of all dishes as well as overseeing, coaching and training junior staff to deliver at the same level.

Hours worked will vary but shifts will predominantly be during the day, with additional hours required for our events held on site and Eden Sessions concerts.

Community Network Developer

Salary from £23k

Eden Project Communities has UK wide reach and delivers initiatives that encourage public engagement and participation in positive action and create real social capital on a mass scale.  Since it began in 2009, participation in The Big Lunch, the UK’s annual get-together for neighbours, has grown continually with the number of people taking part in 2017 rising to over 9 million.  Alongside this we deliver initiatives that encourage connections, engage the public and help people across the UK build the skills and confidence to drive positive social action where it is needed most.
 
Over the next 4 years we are growing participation in the programme to new heights and aim to increase the social impact we have on communities and neighbourhoods all over the UK.  You’ll help us increase awareness of and participation in all aspects of the programme, including Community Camps, Exchange Hubs, The Great Big Walk, The Big Lunch and other projects.  
 
You will take the lead in creating self-sustaining localized support mechanisms for Big Lunch programme participants within a broad territory within the UK.  Key elements of the role include increasing programme participation, developing resources, delivering and supporting events and building networks across people, projects and organisations.
Our ideal candidates will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience in community development and be self-starters with strong networking and relationship building skills.  Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage and connect audiences at all levels through delivering events, experiences and resources is essential.
 
Working for the Eden Project (Charity number 1093070), roles within the Big Lunch Programme are funded by the National Lottery through the Big Lottery Fund.  Post holders will be based in a local office or from home depending on location, and be responsible for covering a large geographical area of the UK.

Hangloose* - Summer site maintenance

*In this role you will be employed by Hangloose Adventure and not the Eden Project

£9 per hour

Monday to Friday 8am-5pm.

The role would include basic carpentry and ground works.

The position requires no specific skills however having practical experience is an advantage.

Immediate start date for 5-6 weeks over the summer with the possibility of extending at the end.

Land Train Operative

Zero hours contract, Permanent position 
£7.83 per hour
 
Our Land Train is an important part of our daily visitor experience and is regarded by many families as one of the reasons they visit us.
 
We are looking for highly motivated individuals to promote the team and the landtrain experience and help develop them both to move forward within our ever changing project.
 
We need people who are quick to learn new skills, able to be professional and dedicated at all times, and have the ability to generate new ideas to help take the team forward.
 
Our ideal candidate will have an excellent knowledge of health and safety, be a fantastic communicator and have held a previous professional driving position. Some administration and IT skills are required, as is the ability to provide a world class level of customer service to our visitors.
 
A full clean driving License is required, applicants need to be over 25 years old and have held a full driving License for at least 3 years – this is for insurance purposes.

Site Hygienist

40 hours per week

The Eden project is a unique visitor attraction and this is a unique role to fill. 
We are looking for people to deal with a variety of different tasks across the whole site both in public areas and behind the scenes. 
 
This will in the main include cleaning of toilets, offices, and associated areas across all of the Eden Project with use of Professional cleaning equipment. 
In addition you will be required at times to assist at the recycling plant based at Eden and thus an understanding of recycling streams would be useful.
 
You need to be enthusiastic and prove a good level of flexibility as the role will also require driving hence a full driving licence is essential and other tasks at Eden as required offering a service to other site staff.
 
Knowledge of Health and Safety would also be an advantage however all training for the role would be given as required.

Social Prescribing Project Officer (Social and Therapeutic Horticulturist)

Fixed term contract until 31st March 2019
40 hours per week, full time
£22-23k pa pro-rata

We are looking for an experienced Horticulturist to provide ongoing management of our horticultural therapy programme which is part of Eden’s wider social prescribing programme.
 
You will lead the planning and delivery of an annual programme of therapeutic horticultural activities with various groups of people. You will also be interested and able to develop and expand the programme to meet the needs of varying clients groups.

You should have an NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Horticulture. An accredited mental health qualification is desirable.
