Cash Office Assistant 

16 hours per week, £8.56 per hour 

Fixed term contract until 31 December 2019 

We are looking for a new team member to work in our cash office.  Working with a small team you will manage all cash moved through the business to support other Eden Teams, and the wider financial management of the business.  We are looking for someone with experience of working in a cash office or similar financial background, ideally (but not essential) in a business of a similar size. You will be responsible for preparing daily till floats, providing change orders throughout the day, receiving all cash takings and completing the daily banking.  Accuracy and attention to detail are essential skills.

You will be expected to have achieved GCSE level A-C for Maths and English (or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate excellent levels of numeracy and literacy and be a proficient user of Microsoft Excel or similar software. 

Eden is a unique year round visitor destination, offering a changing seasonal programme; as such the role requires weekend and evening working. You will be a good communicator, able to respond to changing demands and be flexible and responsive to support the changing business models across the seasons.

Cash Office Supervisor

Permanent position, 20 hours per week 

£9 per hour

We are looking for a part time Cash Office Supervisor to support our team of Cash Office operatives.  Supervising a small team you will manage all cash moved through the business to support other Eden Teams, and the wider financial management of the business.  We are looking for someone with experience of working in a cash office or similar financial background, ideally (but not essential) in a business of a similar size. As a supervisor your responsibility will be to make sure that the all the procedures are in place to ensure the offices run efficiently and that these are adhered to, completing a number of administrative functions. You will be experienced in supervising teams, including, but not exclusively, completing appraisals, staff rotas, managing time sheets.

You will be expected to have achieved GCSE level A-C for Maths and English (or equivalent) and be able to demonstrate excellent levels of numeracy and literacy and be a proficient user of Microsoft Excel or similar software.

Chef de Partie

Fixed term contracts with potential for extension beyond summer. Immediate start dates 

£9.33 per hour from 1st April 

We are looking for chefs to join our experienced and passionate team.

If you have a passion for food, a commitment to the development of staff and have experience in a role of a similar level then this is the job for you!

You will be experienced at this level, creativity is a must; as is the ability to work individually, be organised and lead by example. Duties will include preparation, cooking and presentation of all dishes as well as overseeing, coaching and training junior staff to deliver at the same level.

Hours worked will vary but shifts will predominantly be during the day, with additional hours required for our events held on site and Eden Sessions concerts.

Energy Manager

Full time, permanent position

Eden is looking for an Energy Manager to join its Estates team to develop energy initiatives across the Eden site to support and enhance its sustainable operations.

You will ensure all the Utilities (including water) are managed ensuring we use best practice, develop efficiencies and utilise the energy monitoring and targeting systems to reduce consumption. You will help develop, support and promote the energy policy, provide advice and guidance to working on technical efficiency and renewable projects and be a key voice in the development of the sustainable operations strategy and energy conservation across the Eden estate.

You will have excellent knowledge and experience of energy reduction strategies, energy monitoring systems and have proven negotiating skills to ensure best options are achieved when purchasing all of our utilities. You will be an excellent communicator with the ability to work and build relationships across teams and with external stakeholders. Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail are essential along with the ability to generate new ideas to help take the site forward.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Energy Manager to develop their skills in the unique surroundings of the Eden Project.

Hospitality Assistant 

Seasonal positions until September 2019
£8.21 per hour for ages 21 and over
£6.44 per hour for age 18-20
£5.75 per hour for age 16-17
Varied hours are available. You will be required to work weekends and evenings, flexibility is a must as you will be expected to provide cover over a seven day week. Please state any prior commitments in your application form that you will not be able to work due to holidays/festivals.
The main purpose of the role is to engage with our visitors, to talk to them about the food we serve and ensure that they leave our hospitality venues delighted with the food and level of service they have received. You will be based in our Mediterranean restaurant in the biome, where we provide table service to our guests.
Ideally you will have great people skills; be passionate about delivering excellent customer service as well as working within a team.
You will engage with our visitors whist taking their food order, making them drinks, serving them food, or cleaning their tables, demonstrating your product knowledge by advising and making suggestions.
If you have a passion for food and love delivering excellent customer service we would love to hear from you.  Previous experience working in a customer facing environment would be advantageous but is not essential.

Junior HR Officer

An opportunity has arisen within our HR team for a Junior HR Officer to lead on our permanent and seasonal recruitment processes. The role will support our HR Team in the full employee cycle for our team of up to 650 colleagues.

You will predominantly be responsible for our recruitment process but will also have the opportunity to be involved with employee relations, payroll, learning and development and wellbeing. Experience in payroll processing and first level employee relations advice would be beneficial.

You will have at least two years experience in a HR/recruitment team and will have a CIPD qualification at Level 3 as a minimum. Attention to detail and strong organisational skills are essential for this position. This role would suit an experienced HR Assistant looking for their next challenge. There will be opportunity for further CIPD study and personal development in this position.

Seasonal Narrators

With close to a million visitors to the Eden Project each year, a Narrator will never hold two conversations which are the same; a vibrant and diverse position like no other.

This team is essential to the daily running of the Eden Project and works across a range of positions across site in differing climates. Whether it is 100ft up in the Rainforest biome or welcoming visitors on their arrival, our Narrators ensure all visitors have the best experience possible and no one leaves Eden without “getting it”.

The Narrator team works together, holding conversations with all who enter through our doors whilst keeping health and safety at the forefront of the working day. Within the Narrator Team you will share your knowledge with both colleagues and visitors, in all aspects of the role, learning just as much from our visitors as they learn from you.
