Head of Horticulture

The Eden Project is looking for a Head of Horticulture and Gardens. We are looking for a skilled and ambitious horticulturist to lead the next phase in the development of our contemporary gardens and landscapes. Last year we opened the new West Australia Garden in the Mediterranean Biome and we will be developing several prestigious new gardens and exhibits over the next five years including a new food and agriculture garden. 

 We are looking for an individual who can lead these projects and our horticultural programmes, creating gardens that delight and inspire. Ideally you will have a commitment to great design and display, a love of plants and the environment, and enjoy growing student and apprentice horticulturists. You will be joining our brilliant horticultural team, a team who see gardens as a tool for changing the world.

Car Parks Operative

Fixed Term Zero Hours Contract until September 2018

We are looking for people to work with our car parks team during our busy periods.  We have 11 car parks of varying sizes and we can fill all of these, so you will need to be a quick learner, confident, able to make decisions and to react to changing circumstances to make sure our visitors have a smooth arrival and can find a parking space.

Our car parkers are the first staff that our visitors meet, so we are looking for people who are also friendly, approachable, informative and helpful. If you can do this with a flourish and a smile, even on the wettest of summer days, we would love to hear from you!

Commis Chef

Eden Live Activity Facilitator and Supervisor Roles

Eden Live Activity Facilitator

Our summer programme is ‘Expedition Space.’ Visitors will be able to experience the farthest reaches of our galaxy, and enjoy out of this world experiences. 
 
As an Activity Facilitator you will interact with our visitors as they set out on their journey into space. You will facilitate a host of planet-hopping activities, like our Europa ice slide and Mercury mini golf. 
 
You will need to have a welcoming smile, the ability to talk to people of all ages and create fun games for everyone to enjoy.
 
The main summer programme will run for 6 weeks during the school holidays. 21th July – 2nd Sept. There will be a staff training day on the 20th July.
 
In addition to the summer programme we have various events following on from this, such as Halloween and Christmas. Your contract would cover facilitating these events too.
 

Eden Live Activity Supervisor 

£8.50 per hour
40 + hours a week 
 
This role includes all the elements of the Activity Facilitator plus the day to day supervision of the team. 
 
You will need to be able to communicate well to your team and others across Eden, schedule the team’s daily activities and keep the activities and queues running smoothly as well as responding to the needs of our visitors.

IT Support Engineer

We are an Educational Charity and Visitor Attraction based in Cornwall and are looking for a Service Desk / IT Support Engineer (1st / 2nd Line) to join our well established in-house ICT Team.

This is a brilliant opportunity for someone who has a broad range of 1st / 2nd Line IT Services skills to come and work in a challenging, varied and rewarding environment. As part of the team you will be responsible for all aspects of ICT support and delivery across the Eden Trust.

This position is perfect for someone with 2+ years of experience in a similar role and thrives on working within a small but dedicated team of individuals who support each other. Occasional weekend and out of hours cover is required.

Land Train Operative

Zero hours contract, Permanent position 
£7.83 per hour
 
Our Land Train is an important part of our daily visitor experience and is regarded by many families as one of the reasons they visit us.
 
We are looking for highly motivated individuals to promote the team and the landtrain experience and help develop them both to move forward within our ever changing project.
 
We need people who are quick to learn new skills, able to be professional and dedicated at all times, and have the ability to generate new ideas to help take the team forward.
 
Our ideal candidate will have an excellent knowledge of health and safety, be a fantastic communicator and have held a previous professional driving position. Some administration and IT skills are required, as is the ability to provide a world class level of customer service to our visitors.
 
A full clean driving Licence is required, applicants need to be over 25 years old and have held a full driving Licence for at least 3 years – this is for insurance purposes.

Market Researcher

40 hours per week,

Maternity Cover Position for up to 12 Months
 
The market research team are looking for an outgoing and confident person to assist the Research Manager with our busy market research programme. Eden’s visitor research covers an exciting and unique variety of projects, including the Eden Sessions, visitor profiling, sporting events and seasonal programmes evaluation. Funded projects and sponsorship feedback are also amongst the wide range of responsibilities covers in the role.
 
The successful candidate will ideally have at least 3 years’ experience, preferably in the tourism sector, in the field of market research and of disseminating complex data, as well as being able to communicate with a wide audience. The main responsibilities include questionnaire design, face to face interviewing, data inputting, keeping accurate records, analysis of complex data sets and quantitative and qualitative research techniques. 
 
The role requires flexibility and the ability to work both as a team and confidently as an individual.

Marketing Co-ordinator

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Eden Project Marketing team in the role of Marketing co-ordinator. As we gear up to our busiest time of year, we are seeking a highly organised and confident marketer to support the team in campaign co-ordination and delivery.

We’re looking for an individual with all round marketing and administration skills, ideally with some experience of helping to deliver multi-channel marketing campaigns both on- and offline. The successful candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills – ideally with copywriting experience - and a flexible approach to their work, balancing the ability to multi-task with strong attention to detail. Knowledge and experience of the tourism/visitor attraction sector would be advantageous.

Researcher Writer (Interpretation)

Fixed term contract (maternity cover) until 31/01/2019
40 hours per week  or two part time posts at 20 hours per week
£22,000 per annum
We are looking for a Researcher Writer to support the content development of exhibits, publications and digital media to deliver Eden narrative and visitor experience.  
The post-holder should be highly enthusiastic about the communication of environmental and social content with background knowledge in these areas. Experience in referenced literature research, science communication, creative writing, journalism and broadcasting would be beneficial. 
You should be competent in both desk-based research using academic sources and building relationships with experts to broaden and verify content.  For this role you will need to be focused, proactive, a good communicator and have the ability to draw on multiple forms of information and distill this into compelling narrative for a wide audience.  You should be as curious as a cat, have a nose for a good story, be a bit of a detective and have a passion for sharing amazing stories.

Site Hygienist

40 hours per week

The Eden project is a unique visitor attraction and this is a unique role to fill. 
 
We are looking for people to deal with a variety of different tasks across the whole site both in public areas and behind the scenes. This will in the main include cleaning of toilets, offices, and associated areas across all of the Eden Project with use of Professional cleaning equipment. 
 
In addition you will be required at times to assist at the recycling plant based at Eden and thus an understanding of recycling streams would be useful.
 
You need to be enthusiastic and prove a good level of flexibility as the role will also require driving hence a full driving licence is essential and other tasks at Eden as required offering a service to other site staff.
 
Knowledge of Health and Safety would also be an advantage however all training for the role would be given as required.

Retail Warehouse Assistant 

Fixed Term, Zero hours contract until September

£7.83 per hour for age 21 and over 

Our warehouse team are looking for someone to assist with the responsibility of controlling the flow of stock, inventory and other assets through our warehouse. 

You will monitor goods in and out for quality and quantity, and maintaining inventory accounting records, while safely and efficiently handling items. 

Our ideal candidate will have good customer service skills, as you will be required to co-operate and liaise with colleagues in other departments, delivery personnel and suppliers to ensure smooth delivery.

Past experience in a retail or asset warehousing environment would be beneficial but not essential. 

A full, clean UK driving license is essential for this role.
