Teacher training and school development for outdoor learning

Key info
- Focus on outdoor learning and nature-based play
- Suitable for primary and secondary teachers
We offer a range of inspirational teacher training and school development opportunities to enable your pupils to get outside more for outdoor learning and nature-based play. We deliver these both at the Eden Project and in your own school.
At the Eden Project we are passionate about outdoor learning and nature-based play. We believe that children are happier, healthier (physically, mentally and socially), and more successful as learners, if they have regular access to nature and the outdoors.
Our aim is to support teachers to become outstanding practitioners of creative, outdoor learning.
We offer training and professional development opportunities to help teachers take pupils outside as part of the everyday curriculum; and to inspire schools to consider their culture of learning and play, while re-imagining the potential of their school grounds.
You can choose from:
- A variety of one-day courses delivered here at the Eden Project or in your own school.
- Longer term school grounds development visioning
What you'll get out of it
All our teacher training and school development packages are designed to be:
- Empowering. You will leave with pockets filled with imaginative, curriculum-linked, ‘ready to go’ ideas to use in your school grounds.
- Practical and fun. Time spent outside exploring new approaches and creative ideas is balanced with a strong theoretical foundation based on sound research.
- Realistic. We are experienced educators who have worked with many schools; we understand the pressures of teaching. We can help you to meet your targets and get things like health and safety right.
'The day has massively inspired me to incorporate outdoor learning into the whole curriculum.'
