Beth rose to prominence through the 1990s with memorable collaborations with William Orbit, Red Snapper and The Chemical Brothers before striking out on her own with a series of acclaimed, award-winning solo releases. She returns with her stunning new album, Weather Alive.

Representing her first self-produced album in her nearly 30-year career, Weather Alive was created with nothing more than her unique and expressive voice and a “beaten-up old piano” in a shed in her garden.

The Norfolk-born performer pioneered the synthesis of electronic and acoustic sounds in her 1996 debut album, Trailer Park, which received two BRIT Award nominations and features the UK Top 40 single She Cries Your Name.

Central Reservation was her 1999 follow-up, which garnered international success, ushering in a second Mercury Music Prize nomination and the title of Best British Female at the 2000 BRIT Awards.

Beth’s sound has deepened and transformed over the decades, with this expansive latest album a departure from her previous work. Featuring collaborations with drummer Tom Skinner (Sons of Kemet, The Smile) and bassist Tom Herbert, Weather Alive is a vulnerable record that taps into personal struggles to emerge as something enthralling and beautiful.

The performance will mark Beth’s return to the Eden Sessions, having previously performed in front of the Biomes in 2002 alongside Spirtualized.

Tickets for The War on Drugs show with special guest Beth Orton on June 18 cost £55 plus a £7.15 booking fee.

In addition to the War on Drugs Session, already announced to play this year’s series of concerts are global superstar Lionel Richie (June 7), and American singer-songwriter and environmentalist Jack Johnson (June 23).

In September 2019 the Eden Project and global live events company AEG Presents announced a new partnership, Eden Sessions Ltd, to run the Eden Sessions.

In September 2021 Volvo Car UK announced a new three-year partnership as the Official Automotive Partner of the Eden Project and the Eden Sessions music concerts, a deal brokered by AEG Global Partnerships.

This long-term collaboration aims to inspire and educate visitors about people’s relationship with the environment and how we can protect the planet to create a safer future.
