The American rock sensations are set to take to the stage in front of the world-famous Biomes on Sunday June 18, 2023.

Rita Broe, Managing Director of Eden Sessions Ltd, said: “The War On Drugs are one of the most electrifying bands in the world today so we are absolutely thrilled to announce them as part of our fabulous line-up for next year. We are sure this will be an Eden Session long remembered and one that is not to be missed.”

The War On Drugs, led by Adam Granduciel, make records that wrestle a fractured past into a unified and engrossing present. Their music has been described as “a roots-soaked-synth-and-guitar approach to American rock and roll.”

The New Yorker called them “the best American ‘rock’ band of this decade” in support of their album, A Deeper Understanding, for which they won the 2018 Grammy for Best Rock Album and were nominated for a BRIT Award for International Group of the Year.

They released LIVE DRUGS in 2020, featuring live interpretations of songs throughout their career, including off their 2014 breakthrough, Lost In The Dream.

Their fifth studio album, I Don’t Live Here Anymore, co-produced by Granduciel and Shawn Everett, landed on numerous 2021 best albums of the year lists and garnered a second BRIT Award nomination.

In an odyssey that lasted about three years, I Don’t Live Here Anymore was made in New York City and Los Angeles from 2018 through the early part of 2021, and included stopovers at iconic studios such as Electric Lady in Greenwich Village and Electro-Vox in Hollywood. The band headlined Madison Square Garden in support of its release.

Tickets for The War On Drugs at the Eden Project on June 18, 2023, cost £55 plus a £7.15 booking fee.

Tickets will go on sale to Inside Track Passholders from 10am on Tuesday November 8 until 8am Friday November 11, 2022.

Tickets go on general sale at 10am on Friday November 11, 2022.

Already announced to play next year’s Eden Sessions is global superstar Lionel Richie on June 7, 2023.

In September 2019 the Eden Project and global live events company AEG Presents announced a new partnership, Eden Sessions Ltd, to run the Eden Sessions.
