Eden Marathon and Half-Marathon

Cornwall’s biggest running event, the Eden Marathon and Half-Marathon in partnership with St Austell Running Club, returns on Sunday 18 October 2026 with a multi-terrain route through spectacular countryside. Early Bird entries for 2026 are now open –  don’t miss your chance to be part of it.

Why you'll love taking part

Here are just a few reasons why we think you’ll enjoy the Eden Marathon:

  • Themed medal for all race finishers
  • Pasty and a beer for all race runners – where else but Cornwall?
  • Cash prizes for race winners and prizes for category winners
  • Free entry to Eden for runners and accompanying family members and supporters on the day.
  • Water stations every three miles and isotonic drinks every seven miles
  • Chip timing, and free online analysis of your race via RunPix

You'll be supporting the creation of wildflower habitats here at Eden to help wildlife and pollinators thrive. This is our alternative to providing race t-shirts, as hundreds of them are not collected or not worn after events every year nationwide. If you would still like to purchase a souvenir t-shirt of the event, these will be available to purchase shortly.

About the Eden Marathon

A firm fixture in the running calendar, the Eden Project Marathon and Half Marathon offers hilly multi-terrain courses around the famous site, following a challenging route through areas of spectacular mining heritage and beautiful countryside landscapes.

Why we set up this Marathon

We created the course through Cornwall's dramatic Clay Country not only to offer a unique sporting experience for runners nationwide, but to showcase the unique region on our doorstep. The idea came from a conversation with the local St Austell Running Club, whose commitment, enthusiasm and passion have been invaluable in putting on the event.

The Marathon is just one of the many ways Eden aims to act as a catalyst for economic growth in the local region. If we could build this place, in a former clay pit, surely together we can all take on even bigger challenges…
