Eden Sessions concert: CMAT

The singer-songwriter, whose real name is Ciara Mary-Alice Thompson, is one of the most distinctive voices to emerge from Ireland in recent years, earning widespread praise for her sharp, emotionally candid songwriting and genre-blurring sound that draws on pop, country and indie influences with wit and originality.

Her debut album, If My Wife New I’d Be Dead, won the Choice Music Prize for Album of the Year, firmly establishing her as a major new talent. Its follow-up, Crazymad, For Me, received further critical acclaim and a Mercury Prize nomination, cementing her reputation as one of the UK and Ireland’s most compelling contemporary artists.

CMAT’s growing influence has been recognised beyond critical acclaim, with BRIT Awards nominations for International Artist of the Year in 2024 and 2026, an Ivor Novello Award nomination for Best Album, and inclusion on the Forbes 30 Under 30 list, highlighting her rising profile across Europe. Her appearance at the Eden Sessions forms part of an international tour in support of her latest album, EURO-COUNTRY.

Renowned for her powerful and charismatic live performances, including viral singles Take a Sexy Picture of Me and I Wanna Be a Cowboy, Baby!, CMAT has delivered standout festival sets, including a performance on Glastonbury Festival’s Pyramid Stage, alongside large sold-out tour dates.
