Volunteer at the Eden Project taster sessions
Love nature and want to get stuck into something positive?
Join us at the Eden Project for a special volunteering taster session as part of The Big Lunch and The Big Help Out. Lend a hand tracking pollinators, building homes for insects and supporting nature-friendly projects.
And as a thank you, you’ll get free entry to the Eden Project for the day, plus a free Big Lunch to enjoy together.
Free places are limited and must be pre-booked. Friday sessions are for ages 16+ only. All ages are welcome at the Saturday and Sunday sessions.
Join us for a volunteering session
Join us for a volunteering taster session on Friday, Saturday or Sunday and get stuck in to a variety of activities, including tracking pollinators, building bug hotels, planting, creating kindness cards and more. Afterwards, we'll all sit down together for a Big Lunch to celebrate our amazing volunteers.
Volunteers will receive free entry to the Eden Project for the day, so once you've lent a hand and eaten all together, you're free to explore the biomes and gardens.
Taster sessions run from:
- 10:30am - 1pm on Friday 6 June (suitable for age 16+, activities will take place outside and on uneven ground)
- 10:30am - 12pm on Saturday 7 and Sunday 8 June (suitable for all ages and accessible to all)
Lunch is provided. Places are free, but limited.
Take part in our digital flower count
Help us to discover how the plants in our gardens are faring by taking part in our digital flower count. Let us know what's flowering during your visit and we'll add it to our plant database, which records all the plants and their locations.
Over time, we'll be able to track how the climate emergency is affecting our gardens by comparing which plants are thriving and when they're flowering each year.
- Download a map of the garden (coming soon) and pick zone 1,2, 3, 4 or 5
- Take a picture of a total of 5 plants in flower in each zone
- Email your photos of the flowers in bloom to flowers@edenproject.com
Our garden team will identify your pictures and record the information on our database so that we can build up knowledge each year.
The Big Lunch and The Big Help Out
The Big Lunch, an Eden Project initiative, brings over 10 million people together for the UK’s largest annual community celebration. This year The Big Lunch and The Big Help Out are teaming up on 5–8 June for a weekend of friendship, food, fun and action – and everyone’s invited!
It’s one big do – a chance to meet, eat and lend a hand locally in the UK’s biggest celebration of community.
Big or small, what you do is up to you – a BBQ with the neighbours, a local litter pick or helping a good cause for the day – we can all do something!
It’s easy, it’s fun and it’s for everyone – so what will you do?
